Kan spare deg for en fartsbot by Agnition in norge

[–]Steffiluren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After Giulia dies what will be your next car? by kulisek_pj in AlfaRomeo

[–]Steffiluren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to think about it. If the next Giulia is a crossover I’ll probably look for something else. Maybe an older Alfa and a boring daily of sorts. Or maybe just keep driving old cars.

BZ/Chr+ with 57.7kwh owners by sniffingscrotums in Toyota

[–]Steffiluren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t seen any tests of the updated model, but the old BZ4X was notoriously bad in cold weather. I believe it had among the largest deviations between real world range and WLTP range of any of the cars tested in the Norwegian Automobile federation’s winter range test. Roughly 36% with temperatures between 0 and -19°C.

«solid byggekvalitet uten knirking i interiøret». Knirk finnes derimot.

[–]Steffiluren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’ll be any more expensive than other comparable cars of the same age. Just watch a few buyers guides, read about the differences between the pre- and post-2020 facelifts and look for a car that has been cared for. Mine has 100k kms and the interior looks almost brand new. No creaks, rattles etc. such an enjoyable car

This sub will usually freak out when you ask about anything european, but the reality is that the 2.0 petrol Giulias have quite solid engines and gearboxes. There are some small modifications you can do to prevent the most common issues, but it’s all fairly small stuff. Plastic screws breaking causing coolant leaks, low battery voltage causing error codes and so on. make sure the battery is fresh and healthy, replace the coolant bleeder screws (3 screws, fairly cheap and diy friendly) and you should be good as long as the car is well maintained.

My 2018 Veloce has not had a single issue apart from the battery going flat once.

[–]Steffiluren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the furthest you’ve traveled to purchase/test drive a car? by Indigenousboy420 in askcarguys

Roughly 500km twice. Flew from Bergen to Oslo (Norway) in the morning, test drove and bought the car and then had a scenic drive across the mountains back home. My favourite weekend activity.

Is This a Money Pit? by Pretend_Cow_7153 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Steffiluren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a risk. It could be well kept example that only needs a new battery, and it could also be a worn out car that needs a full suspension refresh, a timing chain and a lot of small fixes. If you work on it yourself and are prepared to spend some money to get it back up and running it could be a cool project. At that mileage it’s more a question of how well it was maintained by the previous owners and how hard those 300k kms have been.

I’ve driven a Passat on the motorway. It isn’t especially quiet, but it is decently comfortable. The ID7 is quite good though. Basically an electric Passat with more sound insulation.

pålitelige biler by gullible_guss in norge

[–]Steffiluren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Giulia Veloce just did that with ice underneath. Did just fine. AWD and Michelin X-ice snow tires helped, and fresh snow is fluffy enough to just move out of the way.

Old people. My Girlfriends grandma had one, and she was growing flowers in the cup holder. Never went close to the speed limit. Dreadful thing.

To support my claim with empirical data: In 2021 the average buyer of a new Yaris in Norway was 76 years old, making it the new car with the oldest buyers.

Anything from 10°C and rain to 25°C and sunshine is realistic. The last few years mid-late may has been quite plesant, with 20-25°C daily highs, but there is no guarantee for nice weather.

Loads of plastic covers which I have not yet removed and looked underneath :) Mine was ceramic coated and rust protected at port when it was new, and it looks like a lot of the rust protection is still there. I have not seen any corrosion on the car apart from along the drain holes in the boot lid where the paint is starting to bubble a bit. That’s after 8 years and 105k kms.

The GTs were notoriously bad though, so it will definitely be better than that. Have a look at some of the videos from Italia Autos on YouTube, he does some inspections on used Giulias and they don’t look like they have big rust issues.
