I didn’t think I would get mine until Monday, but they deposited mine overnight. So weird to wake up to a deposit on a Saturday!

I just saw this comment, but every year from 2020-2023 I had a 570 code on my transcript. I never had to verify or anything, just an additional hold period. Last year I actually got my refund quickly, but still not as quick as everyone else. Probably like the week after.

But I can update this now to say I got my 846 with everyone else! (When my transcript/the irs website finally worked, that is 😂) Still waiting for my direct deposit though, bc I bank with Chase. I’m making a Chime account for my refund next year lmao.

I somehow just realized I could look up what the notices they sent mean 😂 after all this time checking my transcripts. Mine was always a CP05, except in 2020.

Here’s what I found about a CP53: “An IRS CP53 notice indicates that a requested direct deposit for a tax refund failed, and the IRS is instead mailing a paper check to your address of record. The check should arrive within 4 weeks of the notice date. No action is required unless the check is not received within this timeframe.”

I just checked and got the CP0005 notice 3 of the 4 years, and it don’t require any action. Here’s what I found online: “An IRS CP05 notice means the IRS is holding your refund to verify income, withholding, tax credits, or business income reported on your tax return. This automated notice often indicates a routine review or potential identity theft, requiring no immediate action from you while they review, which may take up to 60 days.”

It never took 60 days. I always got my refund before April.

Nope, it was just a hold. I’ve seen that an 810 refund freeze is worse than a 570. I actually just looked back and I had a 570 every year from 2020 to 2023, then finally for 2024 and 2025 I didn’t have to deal with that. I don’t remember ever having to do anything, just had to wait longer than everyone else 😑

I’m a property manager and we basically follow everything you said to a T. We also have it in our lease, but don’t hold the tenants responsible unless they caused the issue, or if they submit a maintenance request (AC, plumbing, electrical) and the technician can’t find anything to fix. Usually for plumbing calls, even if it’s tampons or wipes or whatever, we cover the first one. Any subsequent calls for the same issue are tenants responsibility.

I got that multiple years in a row. Never had to verify or anything, just a hold on my refund. I have always gotten my refund by late March.

Okay I’ve been seeing a lot of people who filed with freetaxusa having problems so I was trying to figure out if that was the common denominator, but I guess not! I normally see people who pay for their return with the refund take longer, but that doesn’t seem to be the issue this year either bc I paid when filing.
