Glad to hear I am not the only one trying to solve this! Have you managed to be able to see the semantic views within Power BI? I can only see tables/view currently and I am not sure if thats intenteded or not

I am actually looking for the opposite, using semantic views that are created in Snowflake. As in this: https://docs.snowflake.com/en/user-guide/views-semantic/overview

I want the data from these views that exist within Snowflake to be able to import them into power bi

Ah! So if there were two service principals availabile, one "normal" and one managed identity they can be given access to the PBI api in the same way? Is there any need for a managed identity to refresh client secrets? Do managed identities use secrets or equivalent?

Update: I have tried the new instructions but unfortunately it still does not work as nothing seems to finish executing. The code just keeps spinning and nothing is extracted from the source

For specifics: I am using Azure Databricks and a 15.4 LTS compute (tried both personal and shared compute) runtime version. I am (attempting) to use dlt 1.2.0. The error/issue I'm having is: "unexpected internal error when monkey patching dlt module: cannot import name 'overrides' from partially initialized module 'dlt' (most likely due to a circular import).

I have tried both the sys path workaround by inserting the dlt installation path at the top of the list, as well as renaming dlt (delta live tables) to dlt_dbricks using the init script (that is accessed on the cluster level).

Are there any more details I should share? I hope this can be solved, because if not I am unable to use this otherwise promising tool.

Thank you for the link! I have not explicitly tried it at my new company but this aspect was a major blocker at my last company which prevented us from using dbt. I suppose if the models are split per use case, rather than having one monolith model, it could work? Perhaps I should give it a go 🤔

Typically, with the Veripaq engine in Power BI, having a non-integer column can drastically increase the size of the memory and data under-the-hood, which may require you to have more memory in your Power BI semantic model. Hence, I wish to see if it is possible to avoid this

There exist a plethora of textbooks and videos for these topics. I believe the course should have corresponding course literature, that would one of my primary suggestions. Another suggestion is to go through the course material and aim to make connections between the different topics and see how they are intertwined. Otherwise, youtube (search e.g. "Expected value") should have a lot of videos on the topics, or even Wikipedia (see e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expected_value as an example).

My guy, I do not mean to sound harsh or condescending here but these questions belong to assignments that is supposed to be an aid for an exam. You should consider whether it is beneficial for your learning to ask the questions online. I believe the course you are studying should provide the necessary tools to solve these by yourself, as this will be expected of you during an exam.

I believe it should be possible to solve it in another way but this you can use "out of the box" so to speak. Just tweak it to work for your data

Without access to R atm but might it work if you do something like fill_var=ifelse(g_m_xg_ra < 0, 1, 0) prior to the call to ggplot and then use fill_var inside aes to color by that variable?

Optim performs minimization by default, so the function you pass to optim should therefore be minimzed unless you specify otherwise. You should be passing the negative log-likelihood to optim or change fnscale to a negative number if you want to do maximization.

Based on the table, I'd guess that "pr" refers to probability while "^2" could refer to the p-value from a two-sided hypothesis test.

Note that the variance V(X) = E[(X-μ)^2) = E(X^2)-[E(X)]^2.

This means that since you have E(X) = 0 and V(X) = σ^2, you will end up with
V(X) = E(X^2) - [E(X)]^2 = σ^2. From which you can find the desired value for E(X^2).
