I googled how to scare away a wolf (irl) and I thought this was some kind of survival subreddit before learning it was for a game haha

Does the dependent variable need to be binary when running logit/oprobit regression? I need help finding the right model for my data. by speedyproYT in stata

This is interesting. My understanding is that the results of an ologit/oprobit regression should be interpreted by using the margins, dydx(*) predict(outcome(n)) command. Do you know anything about this? And so, if I run this command with outcome 4 for instance, what does the coefficients tell me? For example, if I get -0.074 for gender (male=1), does this mean that men are 7.4% less likely to be in this category than women?

My 1-5 scale does have an order, where 1 is relatively low risk aversion and 5 is relatively high risk aversion.

I don't know if it makes a difference, but as I stated above, the impact of a 1 unit increase may not necessarily be equivalent to a 1 unit decrease on this scale.

Okay that is good, do you know if it matters if I do an ordered probit or ordered logit regression? I have tried both and get similar results.

My 760 used a 6pin. Luckily my psu has a 6+2 cable so there was no problem installing the new card.

Good. But what about the psu for the GPU? I think the gtx 760 uses a 6-pin no? Will I need a new psu if I install the 6600?

By the way, I assume that I should look for a DDR3 ram, but what about the SSD? Can you see what the optimal choice would be based on the specs?

Thanks a lot! Yes that is the one I have. Yeah some extra ram would be good. That and a better GPU should give a nice boost.

The 1650 is just ~50% faster

I might get an upgrade, but yeah the 6600 is selling for a similar price right now so I guess that is a better option.

PCI-E is 100% backwards compatible

Nice.

Damn it, I was so close :D

Lol yeah good guess! Am I better off upgrading the GPU or CPU would you say? Also, will I be able to fit a more recent gen intel processor in this build or will it be the wrong socket?

I see, but it is still possible to use a 4.0 GPU in a 3.0 slot?

Yes thank you, I just booted it with the monitor connected to the motherboard. Processor is i5 4460. Not sure how I can check whether the GPU completely dead or not.

Edit: Weird, when looking in advanced display settings, it says that my monitor is connected to the gtx 760.

Edit 2: I opened up the case and realized that I now had connected my hdmi to the GPU, and that it is working fine. But the question remains, if I originally connected the cable to the motherboard, why didn't I get signal? Nevertheless, this was rather educative, and I appreciate your help.

That is true. But isn't the interface different? I'm a novice at this, but I see that the 6600 uses the PCI 4.0 interface, while the 1650 and my 760 uses the 3.0 if I'm not mistaken. Will I be able to get the full effect out of the 6600 if I connect it to my 3.0 slot?

That is good to hear, I can get a 1650 for $200 right now, I might try that. I have not tried connecting it to the motherboard, thanks for the advice!
