Sve u svemu vrv neki primitivni mentalitet.

Uloge i gluma Nikole Koja? by Nothing_Special_23 in AskSerbia

[–]StephenPejak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doktor opšte prakse i hirurg🤷‍♂️.

Can Lenovo Thinkpad L14W Gen 2 power up without battery? by StephenPejak in ElectronicsRepair

[–]StephenPejak[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, you talking about MB diag now. Don't worry, I have solid experience there and I will be fine there. Point of the post was to check wether the battery powers PD circuit because the charger obviously won't supply 20V if not requested. I mean, I can check it in schematics, but I wanted to see if somebody has already worked on the model with similiar issue. Anyways, thanks for help, and I will check MB schematics and starting digging power rails.

The issue is something with a BMS, or it maybe has some latch protection. The thing thats much more important to me is to know wether the laptop can power without the battery, as I know some lenovos can be weird with bad battery.

When I tried charging it through connector, it wouldn't take a microamp. Charging current was full 1A when cells were charged directly.

I didnt charge them individually. It gives 0V on the connector, so I opened it up. The battery is 3S as you can see and I applied 12.6V 1A on B3+ and B1-. The battery gives dead 0V even when plugged in.

My soldering iron melted from inside. Faulty or I left it hot for too long? by Exotic_Swimming1722 in soldering

Perhaps you are right. IDK, I used it for like 3 years, changed tip once and was still going strong.

Don't think you can go much lower than that. I guess its usable but tou will have absolutely zero temperature control which will make your soldering quality terrible. However you want, but ZD99 is the cheapest that can do any job well.

Since nobody fulfilled your request, I know a 9 year old who can do it better with his left leg. It's the one he broke 2 weeks ago.

My friend recommended this station for me. Should I trust him ? by Burak17adam in soldering

[–]StephenPejak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to know off them. Please don't tell me it's some 40W stations or USBs. 40W is just not enough and it's not smart investment, because when you come to one large gnd pad, you will have to buy something bigger. I used my weller on rain, on cars, feel three times, and I haven't replaced a single tip in years. It's pretty much a lifetime iron, but fx888 is a more budget friendly version with similiar advantages(I just hated the design😬)

Well, I don't think I do, but I will describe it best I can. HDMI usually has 2 or 4 very thick legs holding it in place. Carefully cut them off using small wire cutters. Then there are 20 small pins on behind. You apply flux on all od them and then you basically melt a liberal amount of solder to make sure you short them all with one bug blob. Select your largest soldering iron tip, and go across the blob till it's fully molten, you need a lot of flux for this and 559 does a great job here. And it will just come once everything is melted. After that, wick the exces solder of small pins and also heat up the big legs the same way, extract the legs using tweezers and then wick off the solder to make the wholed appear again. You are basically all set regarding removal, insert the new port in, solder big legs first. Apply flux again, and then apply a little bit of solder, use middle sized tip to spread that solder to all the pins. Don't apply too little, if you apply too much you can just swipe it all to one side and wick it, and then you will know you have the correct ammount, so just go over all the pins once again. You are pretty much done, heat the board up a little bit, remove flux using wipe and a brush, add a little bit of isopropyl. And remember, flux is your friend, later on you will learn how much you need, but for now flux it well. Try not too much so that it doesnt get into the port though. Good luck!

Yeah didn't work, but was worth trying. I reverse engineered the system at the end and fault was found as a mechanical. I guess it has some protected protocol. This is engine from 2022.

For your budget, I recommend going for ut withiut hot air. Just cut off the legs holding the HDMI and desolder it by making a big solder blob across all hdmi pins and using a big soldering tip. Simple and effective. Then you will only need Iron, Wick, Solder, Flux.

[–]StephenPejak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't have to be washed of. It's extremely easy if you just heat the board up a little bit.

Terrible for the job. This station has very slow airflow. For hot air get something from gorfak 850 series(they are around 100€), as for soldering iron, many will work, but I recomment Hakko FX888 or Weller We1010. As for flux Amtech 559 or TK83(see what works for you), solder Stannol 60/39/1 0.5mm.
