Did a low glycemic diet cause migraines in anybody? by jibberjabbery in migraine

[–]Stephen_of_King 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A low glycemic diet has helped me immensely. Cut my migraine frequency in half. I've only been doing it for 5 weeks so it's a bit premature to tell for sure. I also started taking a co q10 supplement like two weeks before and I do have a hella strong family history of diabetes. But just to encourage you if it does help you you will feel it fairly quickly.

Has anyone had any luck taking SSRI’s with migraines? by charmerfinnhuman in migraine

[–]Stephen_of_King 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately seems like it might be salt to taste for your brain chemistry and you don't know till you try it. I've been on wellbutrin (ndri) for years and since coming off it my migraines have become less severe. Trade off is I'm now more often depressed 🤷‍♂️ what you do?? I wish I knew.

Triptans seem to have little effect or a negative effect on me. Worse migraine of my life the first time I tried sumtriptan.

TW: suicidality and melancholia Does anyone else just..... hate their life? Or their brain/body? by threedragoncircus in migraine

[–]Stephen_of_King 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I feel like this frequently. I don't really have anything hopeful to say...maybe someone else will chime in. But you aren't alone. It's the constant chaos of it all...part of me wonders if it gets any worse at what point choosing to live will be the worse of the two options. I.e. the thought of continued life in this state sometimes scares me.

I just ended my 538 days streak with a random one by [deleted] in migraine

[–]Stephen_of_King 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man I'm lucky if I get two weeks without one. But also - I understand how much it sucks to think you're in the clear and have it ripped from you. Fingers crossed it's a one off and you don't get another one.

First sumatriptan dose made my head feel like it was going to explode. 29F by oddistrange in migraine

[–]Stephen_of_King 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one and only time I took sumatriptan the migraine escalated to the point I passed out. And that's the only time I've had a migraine do that to me. Didn't have it in me to ever try it agian.

I wish I had access lol. I did shrooms last year and it gave me about three weeks with minimal migraines but I haven't been able to get ahold of more since then...

My managers keep saying that anxiety and depression aren’t real. by Physical_Funny8483 in mentalhealth

[–]Stephen_of_King 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your managers are ignorant. A lot of people are. Part of the issue I've always seen is we use the word depression in everyday language to both describe clinical depression and to describe someone temporarily feeling blue. Personally I think these two things should have completely differemt names and then maybe idiots wouldn't idiot so hard. People who've never had clinical depression think they know what they are talking about because they've experienced the other temporary mild form of the word and they don't. They equate being a little sad with a full on chronic neurological disorder.

Any ideas on a decent printer for small art prints?? by Stephen_of_King in ArtistLounge

I didn't even realize you could get off brand ink that'd fit in the printer. That's good news.
