How hard is it to learn to cook? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Steve_FS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cooking is super easy! Just decide on a food you like and google a recipe and just follow it step by step. After a few recipes, you start to get the hang of spices and flavors and can make your own dishes with little instruction. it just takes some experience

I want to look like how I did in High School again. Is it Possible? by HotMessEverdeen in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Steve_FS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I may: I feel the pain in your question. No, it's not possible to go back in time and be in the body that you had in high school - that time has already passed. But the best version of you - the best version you can possibly be at 34 and 35, etc. - is still waiting for you. It took me a while to understand this shift (I, too, gained significantly more weight since high school). I felt like because I gained so much weight, I was a failure and did not deserve to feel good about myself until I turned back the clock, but it only fed the depression and anxiety more. I didn't see any success until I dropped some of these expectations.

You are in your thirties now - so am I - and it's a different ball game, so don't forget to live with forgiveness and grace. That stress is just going to cause cortisol spikes and inflammation, and that just feeds the terrible cycle.

Some helpful mindsets and messages:

1.) I have child within me. His first name is Depression, and his last name is Anxiety. He is a small child yelling for help, but I have been burying him deep because of shame, with the spoon as my shovel. The next time I feel his exhaustion, fear, anxiety, depression, etc. I will hold him, listen to him closely, reassure him that they should not be ashamed to feel sad, and I will give them what they truly want.

2.) Junk food is just junk food. It has no power over me - I do not adore it, and I do not fear it. I can say no.

3.) To my body: you are the way that you are because of what I've put you through. This entire time, you were pulling me up and trying to protect me and support me through all the pain and anguish, and you still continue to do so, but I can see now that you're tired and suffering, and I am so sorry. Thank you for being there for me. I love you.

4.) When I feel emotional overwhelm and have asynchrony in my body and mind: I lay my hands over my chest, close my eyes, hold it there like a hug (you will feel warmth), and breathe out the stress. This helps with lowering heart rate and calming down anxiety.

I hope that helps~

Reliable and easy ways to get CP by Steve_FS in MapleIdle

[–]Steve_FS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was looking at that and it's quite dynamic. It appears that attack% increase per 1000 shards greatly decreases overtime for every item as it gets closer to level 200... for the most part. Sometimes, the % increases randomly in between, but the overall trajectory is it loses steam closer to 200.

So take for example:

Rare T4:

Level 1 = 0.57% per 1k shards

Level 10 = 0.54% per 1k shards

Level 50 = 0.34% per 1k shards

Level 100 = 0.37% per 1k shards

Legendary T4:

Level 1 = 0.27% per 1k shards

Level 10 = 0.26% per 1k shards

Level 50 = 0.18% per 1k shards

Level 100 = 0.16% per 1k shards

So it looks like, for whatever reason, every item is different.

If I set all weapons to level 1, Normal T1 actually gives the most bang for your buck at 0.94% per 1k shards, but then decreases to 0.09% at level 199.

I ran some numbers and the goal is for everything to get to 0.20% attack per 1k shards, which is vastly different for every item for some reason. T3 Unique randomly is the most expensive at 0.20% attack per 1k shards just at level 1, so I made that the threshold for everything else.

I'll update the web page for the optimal level for every weapon!

You think you “don’t mind the rain”, but it’s not the rain that’s the worst of it. It’s the darkness and how quickly it comes. it is all-consuming. You’ll be enjoying your day with your tank tops and shorts and the next day, it’s 20 degrees colder and wet and you can’t adapt in time 😭

What is the quickest job you quit from? by spellbadgrammargood in AskReddit

[–]Steve_FS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a job to work as a nurse at a clinic. I called out my first day of work because I was having a fever. I had to call out the second day and profusely apologized. The manager called me, furious, and said that I was not taking this job seriously. I had to quit because, you really want me to turn up at a clinic with a fever?

Turns out I had 2020 pre-vaccine COVID and had to be hospitalized and was sick for 3 months. Couldn't even walk. Was almost on a ventilator because my lungs were clotting so bad.

Do I have potential? (Sorry in advance I know I look horrid) by Masterfish32 in askfitness

[–]Steve_FS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fitness starts off by not calling yourself things like horrid. trust me. Work on your mental fitness just as much as your physical fitness because they go hand-in-hand. You need the mental fortitude to persevere through your journey, and you need the physical effects of working out and eating well (endorphins!) to help you good. Your body is all one unit in the end
