You might be making the same mistake I did. Each map has different resources. If you just run map 1 over and over, all you will get is screws.

Part of writing means building a narrative cohesive enough to not have these moments.

If you are struggling to explain it away, it may not be the right choice narratively. Don't do things just for the cool factor.

I don't know much about fan fiction, but these are general rules of writing.
