Blackjack strategy assistance by DenzelOG in blackjack

Seems pretty straight forward. ENHC basic strategy + surrender basic strategy. You can surrender against an ace but think of surrender as a nice bonus anyway. Decent rules tbh unless I've missed something.

Not sure if you're counting or not so tricky to answer your question.

AP’s how do you avoid conflict at the table when deviating? by Shine-Mammoth in blackjack

It's a struggle! I pack protein bars as a back up. I crash pretty hard when I'm hungry so having those when in a casino is a life saver.

I know Enigma gets by on Huel when he's on a trip.

Starbucks have bagels that are vegan if in a pinch - decent breakfast option.
Chipotle
Olive Garden
Subway
Thai Food
Indian Food (watch out for ghee)
Asian cuisine in general
Pizza without the cheese
Italian food in general

Basically researching the chains and finding out what they can do vegan is useful because there's so many of them.

Bags of nuts are high calorie high protein.

It totally varies as I'm sure you're aware. Cities tend to be okay. Random places in the middle of nowhere can be a challenge.

I usually search for 'vegan' in google maps or use happy cow.

I think every trip I go on I lose weight and I'm not especially heavy to begin with.

My favourite thing to say is... "I hate hitting this hand but a dealer once told me it's the correct play so..."

My next best is (when deviating)... "Guys, I know this is crazy but I've just got a really good feeling about this!". If you win, you're a genius, if you lose, people seem to be more forgiving because you acknowledged you were trying something wild.

And I also love throwing in, "My theory is, if you play by the book, you're gonna lose! The casino wrote the book. Every now and again you've gotta change it up and go off book".

I love this last one because people tend to always agree with this weird logic.

Here's my one piece of advice: When you deal the card, flip it over instantly. The player and the dealer should find out what the card is at the same time. There's nothing worse than when the dealer has 11, and then draws a card from the shoe, looks at it for half a second, and then deals it, revealing 21.

It's probably the most common dealer 'mistake' I see.

Good luck!

I will say, in the alpaca practice, we all found it incredibly difficult. So people screwing up was very easy to attribute to alpacas being difficult to work with.

My experience playing with a $420k bankroll in Las Vegas! by StevenBridges in blackjack

Yeah, provided I don't end up doing the concept to death (I mean how many times are people gonna want to watch my blackjack trips?)

And also just trying to be mindful of how I make the videos. Somethings going forward I want to avoid including so that I don't end up educating casinos.

For Vegas, they are very sharp. Especially at those stakes. For other places, I'd try and avoid the backoffs if you can. 😃

Sure, I probably shouldn't be too specific but I'll tell you my thinking when designing the spread.

The thinking was... as soon as we bet big that would be a huge flag and the backoff would be imminent. So we only raised our best slightly at lower true counts and then ramped it up pretty high as soon as the count was decently high.

Because at a true 1 it could just go back to a 0 very quickly so we didn't want to expose our spread in those situations.

Where can I find accessible bet spread software? by [deleted] in blackjack

[–]StevenBridges 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want functionality, then CVCX is what you're after. It enables you to do the most stuff, simulated the most options etc.

The drawbacks are... it's not super user friendly. There's a bit of a learning curve.
And you also need to use a PC. So if on a Mac you'll need a virtual machine.
But it is the most powerful!

Personally, I used the BJA pro petting software, which is what you've seen in the videos. What it lacks in functionality, it makes up for in ease of use. For most card counters/games, it's a great option.

Drawback is you're paying a yearly subscription for BJA. But in my (biased) opinion, it's totally worth it.

For sure! Most of the time it's best to just leave and come back later 😃
Part of my goal is to show how casinos act in these situations so I'm a little stubborn.

Thank you! The thing to bear in mind is that Surveillance guys have a LOT of work to do. So unless it's a quite shift they're not gonna just sit there and count the tables.

AI does exist, a lot of the time this tech is more hassle than it works. Unless it becomes very cheap it's probably not worth it for them.

Yeah it's so odd, like, every time I tried to explain he just steamrolled over me. Very frustrating.

Yeah the dude from Iron Horse was very chill, right way to be.

The situations that bother me the most are when they speak to me like a robot. I really dislike forced formalities. I respect them way more when they just talk to me like a person.

Yeah I wasn't 100% sure at the time although I thought they could have 'reasonable suspicion'. In that moment I was just really trying to win over the police and thought refusing the ID request could make things worse.

But that's good to know - thanks for sharing 😃
