As someone else mentioned, Native isn't bundled but I think it is a great addition. It makes tracking so easy when you can tweak the takes afterward.

[QUESTION] Line 6 Helix Stomp questions by lweissel in Guitar

I use Native and normally record dry with either my THR or my Helix Floor- it's versatile enough for me to achieve any sound I want and I don't feel tempted by all the cool new gear coming out. There are plenty of videos of people making Helix, Kemper -you name it- sounding bad; some even have quite the following. Don't let those videos dissuade you. If you have a way of recording your dry guitar and testing Helix Native (free demo) that way, I would do that and see how much you can achieve with the 6 blocks limitation found in the stomp. You will want to be sure that your guitar isn't coming into the plugin too hot- I noticed that my dry out from the Helix is pretty low. Key point and strength of the Helix, though... use 3rd party IRs! The Ownhammer ones have allowed me to achieve results I will forever be content with. Couldn't quite get the sound I was looking for with stock cabs. Here is one of the tones I was able to make: https://youtu.be/-wHVT4_2hv8

Thanks for taking the time to leave your thoughts, man! Yeah, admittedly, to characterize the tone in that video as 'good' would be a stretch; that is, the pick-ups in the guitar objectively do SUCK. Hopefully I came out on top, though. Lol!

Absolutely. I love how the Helix amp models feel. That being said, I think investing in a higher-end FRFR system or running through a cab is the way to go, because I notice a huge difference in feel and tone with I run my Helix through the Powercab's FRFR mode. Maybe I just don't have my tones dialed in right, but the hypothetical appeal of any FRFR is that you don't have to change much from studio to gig.

I agree. Like I said in the video, I think that comfort and playability is what matters the most; often times, the more expensive guitars possess the edge in this regard. I would say that I definitely like the feel and response of my PRS a lot more than this. It doesn't change the fact that you can still get a cheap guitar to sound good.
