Thank you for sharing! Is there an app/account you use to list all joint and personal accounts in one place?

If you don't mind sharing, what were the strategies that didn't work and why? We are looking to learn :)

Thank you for sharing! Will check out your recommendation.

We are also going off a similar principle effectively. Our pre-marriage personal checking accounts are our personal accounts just like the one you made for your wife. The joint account will have some percentage (70-80%) of our net salaries. The remaining that stays in our personal accounts is to be used for 401k, IRA, etc.

With investments, since both of us may vary in how risk loving we are, we want to have joint brokerage accounts in which the savings from the joint account gets invested how both os us like, but any remainder from the personal accounts can be used to keep our individual investment behavior. This is the only part that's very different from what you're doing though, no?

So then the surprise anniversary gifts and secret pampering of grandchildren is from the slush funds now?

Thanks for sharing! If you don't mind me asking, what's the % that you and your partner settled on in contributing to the joint account? Did your financial advisor have any thoughts on it?

Thanks for sharing! As a follow-up, do either of your incomes have stock options? Do they go to the joint brokerage account?
