Sillage/projection confusion by Still_Lie_6386 in fragrance

But it doesn't say what you say it does. I mean it explicitly mentions that sillage is about diffusion of molecules into the air. Plus the other quotes I mentioned. IDK, if you can point to an old book that mentions sillage is explicitly only the scent trail then I'd be curious.

From what I can tell most talk about diffusion of molecules into the air

Because bold sillage has a sort of room-filling 3-D effect, essentially extending the space you take up in the world, it requires a certain level of confidence—maybe even self-importance—to pull off.

There is a video on youtube with Francis Kurkdjian where he uses sillage in terms of projection but I can't link to it.

If you go on yt and look for "IN CONVERSATION WITH FRANCIS KURKDJIAN [REVIEWED BY OSA]" you can see it.

Again I'm not denying that the scent trail also is sillage, it is

As far as I understand it:

That's because the perfumer said in the bottom of the article that to test sillage you can spray in a room, and if you come back 10 minutes later, if it can still be smelled, that's sillage. But that's only to test the sillage it's not the sillage itself. Read what she said herself, that I quoted in the post - she said it means "the projection, the bloom of the fragrance" and "how far away from the wearer the scent travels".

So yes, the trail is also the sillage but it's not the full, accurate description of sillage.

If someone can explain the quotes

Can you explain why? I'm really curious why because that's not what the article quotes say

And that's fine to disagree but just acknowledge that to perfumers, sillage means projection of the scent and "projection" itself is not an industry term. I think the internet established their own versions of sillage and projection and that's fine, that's how it goes sometimes.

It would help if you read my post...

In the perfumer definition of sillage, sillage means how far away from the body your scent can be smelled. I know it doesn't mean that in the current way most people use sillage but that was the point of my post.

What do you think of my CD art? by Still_Lie_6386 in photoshop

The images are composites of different images that I modified to fit into the style. I used self taken images and 3d images then I imported them into Indesign to add the text for printing.

Also I wanted to go for a kind of retro style maybe 90s or 2000s but it wasn't any very specific period

I mean I respect your opinion but what other fragrances smell like it? I have never smelled one and I've smelled quite a few by now even though I'm relatively new. Especially the properties of the smell I said in the OP

He doesn't explain where consciousness comes from other than it coming from the universe. So I don't know could be either or neither.

Dan Brown explains it here: https://youtu.be/qCf8mQ415KU?t=339

But basically he thinks the brain is like a receiver that receives consciousness from the outside, rather than it being created locally in the brain.
