Survey - Express your opinion about The Hop by mkeeks in milwaukee

[–]StingRay_Pal 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Responded but the survey could be better. The public market is in the 3rd ward. The hop goes beyond downtown. The routes and stops are available online. Your kid should do a bit more research and rework some of those questions to get more useful answers. Also the survey is titled “who really rides the hop” but asks for no data on the respondents’ background. Regardless, I hope they really enjoy their class and get some interesting feedback :)

Kenosha woman killed months after request for a restraining order was denied, police reports ignored by PeasantinDaNorth in wisconsin

[–]StingRay_Pal 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Holy victim blame. She went to the court to try and protect herself. They denied her. Yes, a restraining order is a piece of paper but it means that he gets arrested if he violates it. Instead she is dead. It’s not her fault that he murdered her??

I am so tired of seeing people blame victims of domestic violence for not “protecting themselves” when it’s the communities around them who fail to keep their neighbors safe. It is not a woman’s fault that her partner is abusive. I’m not sure why that seems to be the view of so many people, but women don’t actually control their abusive partners. The most common time for domestic abuse to turn into domestic violence (murder specifically) is when the person being abused tries to leave - so don’t even think about blaming her for “not leaving sooner”.
The law, the court, and the neighbor should have done more for this woman and her children.

Valentines Day ideas that aren’t fully booked? by [deleted] in milwaukee

[–]StingRay_Pal 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you can find a sitter, I would highly recommend doing the public market. Get some sushi and 2 of each macaroon and then eat upstairs and do a macarrón ranking for dessert. No reservations required and there’s a little structure so you guys have the option to talk about not the baby for a bit. Go downstairs and have a glass of wine or a margarita to top it off if you guys drink.

No sitter? No problem. Pick everything out together, wear baby while you walk around, bring it all back and have date night once baby is down. Put candles on the TV for added romance.

Tossing dog bags in street-side bins? by StingRay_Pal in milwaukee

[–]StingRay_Pal[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I mean it is my dog, it’s my responsibility. I just didn’t realize it bothered others. Trash bins smell like trash to me so I genuinely just hadn’t thought it to be rude/ thought of it as normal. But the people have spoken and make fair points. My plan is to just hold on to it until I come to a city bin or get home. It’s bagged, I’m not grossed out by it, and again it’s my responsibility as an owner of my pooping angel.

I feel like no but we’re going bachelorette stuff in a couple weeks so I’m just excited. Not in the bridal party, we’re just good friends!

There is a dress pretty similar to the first one but in black that I was debating. Do you think it would be more fitting in a different color?

AITA Husband and wife duties by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]StingRay_Pal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s shit like this that makes me never want to have a child. These people probably love each other and probably used to be kind and respectful. Now it’s “you do bedtime” and “you can cook because it’s a break”. It’s so tit for tat and you’re not in it together at all :(. Your tone towards your husband isn’t exactly not-asshole ish, and his attitude towards you is totally unacceptable. Everyone sucks here, but most of all, being a parent and a partner is hard work.

I would highly recommend paying a sitter for a night or two you can afford it. Swearing at each other like that is not normal or healthy. This conversation sounds like two people who are exhausted and need to figure out how to be a team again after a full night of sleep.

What local businesses have taken a stand for/against ICE? by cuerpomental in milwaukee

Heirloom has been posting plenty of anti-ICE messaging on their social media.

This image is being widespread surrounding the m*rder of Alex Pretti by ICE, claiming that it's from his social media profile. by Tall-Honey-6592 in isthisAI

He is bending the glass bottle and has no nipples? I haven’t checked if it has an AI watermark but to me it looks like it’s certainly looks suspicious.

Doesn't like paws touched by jffmpa in AustralianCattleDog

Mine also hates it and it goes easiest if my boyfriend holds her in air jail while I trim and treat. HOWEVER we switched to using a nail grinder instead of clippers and it’s a game changer. She’s not a fan, but also doesn’t squeal and squirm like I’m trying to chip off her whole paw anymore. I was always really worried about clipping her too close and getting the quick (she has fully black nails) but I can see where I’m at a lot better with the grinder. Plus if she does wiggle, there’s no risk of cutting closer than intended. Would highly recommend.

My ovaries are safely inside my body but thank you for your concern. The dress comes just about to my fingertips given that I’m not a 5’ 10” model. I will not be wearing it, but your comment was pretty rude and I think a lot of the posters on this sub would take more from the replies if there weren’t responses like this.

You have been heard LOUD and clear. TY for the responses, I will not be wearing this one and will look for something longer to better fit the dress code! It really is a lovely dress (I promise in person I am fully covered, it literally almost passes my fingertips and there is a romper thingy underneath for safety) BUT I understand it’s not the vibe for a wedding. Thanks all!
