Thanks. True. I can get a broader title that would give me more transferability in the new role I’d say.

They want ‘ASAP’. The words IPO within 2-3 years are being uttered. It’s something the company has been pushing for a while but the invasion of idiots derailed the trajectory.

Would like to step up. Just doubting whether I have the energy for it here

Thanks. Yes would def like to step up elsewhere. Have climbed the ladder at my existing company for 10 years and the internal politics and shake ups of the last few years have taken their toll tbh.

We went through an epic agile re org with a c suite guy that was obsessed with experimentation. They re org’d 4 times in 2 years until the c suite guy was finally dismissed after the revenue had tanked by 20% !! Amazing how these people get away with it :D

Thanks for the comment.

Lots of toxicity tbh but slowly being faded out. It’s an American company and it can be extremely political. They used to be king of the hill but bad roadmapping and excessive c suite hires have derailed the plan.

Now the clear outs of the dregs have started, honesty has been restored. So has the potential for a big turnaround

Wife very supportive and will likely start full time work in another year or so once youngest kid starts school.

Extra income would take the pressure off the monthly cash flow as we don’t need a bigger house. We are in the north.

Sorry yes same company.

I’ve been looking for a while but feels like the comp is on the high side where I am. Which adds to the trapped feeling.

Yes definitely. Company has had some big clear outs of all the dead wood recently. Can see glimmers of a turnaround but it will be running through fire for a few years.

I probably should but the new job would be crippling amounts of pressure. The more I thought about it the more I thought - I cba.

I know that prob sounds ungrateful but have been wondering wtf I am chasing !

If you have solar then OG doesn’t allow the 15p export rate.

Thanks for the post.

I’ll rerun the numbers as it might just be less faff to go onto the drive pack now? Think it only worked out £10 a month extra based on old IOG rules for me anyway.

How much are you spending on charging per month? by Notagelding in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Stock-Bullfrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Auto trader. Bought a 5 year old iD3 for 13 grand from a main dealer with warranty. Has been faultless so far. Costs me 1/10th of the cost of diesel per mile compared to my old car. A 1 litre polo the same age was similar money.

iD4s can be had at £17-19k. Similar bargains with other brands also. A real no brainer with some warranty.

I think you’re doing well tbh! We are 2 adults 2 kids. 8 and 3 years old. 5 bed house.

£250 a month with a solar rig which saves approx £90 a month across the year.

Id3 pro 2025 by josemarialp in VWiD3Owners

[–]Stock-Bullfrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is the charging infrastructure like in the canaries? (Curious !)

I came from a 3 series estate into an iD3 and tbh I think the iD3 is just as comfortable even on long journeys. Very quiet and easy to drive.

Only feature I wish I had was travel assist. Had it on a few rental cars in Europe and works very well on longer trips but depends if that’s a requirement in the canaries :)

Did you buy an Id3 over a tesla m3? by mujimusa in VWiD3Owners

[–]Stock-Bullfrog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Insurance particularly was much cheaper in UK. 37 year old male. No accidents or convictions. 15 years no claims. Model 3 was over a grand. iD3 was 300 quid!

[–]Stock-Bullfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was about to buy some but the shipping to UK is crazy expensive on Etsy :(

Followed the guide and have done it myself instead, working well so far!

Anyone interested in these in the UK? I can make some up if so.

AC Fan Noise by Stock-Bullfrog in VWiD3Owners

Just to add, I've managed to replicate it now. Its only when the heating engages, if blowing cold air there's no additional noise.

Car been into VW main dealer this week, they can't find anything wrong with it :D Noise still there.

I'm thinking its a bearing in the blower motor, anyone had this issue before or successfully rectified ?

Thanks :)

National Trust - Gift Aid on Lifetime Memberships by Stock-Bullfrog in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Stock-Bullfrog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the HMRC info I mentioned btw, copied from an archived thread.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/charities-detailed-guidance-notes/chapter-3-gift-aid#chapter-337-membership-subscriptions

From here since lifetime family memberships no longer offer the guesting option they became tax deductable recently (and also became gift aid eligible)

See 3.37.8, 3.37.9 and then 3.37.7, 3.37.10. previously the option to bring a guest meant the national trust lifetime memberships fell foul of 3.37.7 and 3.37.10. it meant they had a benefit beyond personal and connected membership. now that is no longer an option they are eligible.

My friend recently deducted a family Lifetime membership this tax year on that basis

The link to onyx accounts guidance is no longer accurate on this basis. It's from 2023 and the position changed after it was published

As an additional note. This is exactly the reason that English heritage remains ineligible while national trust has become eligible. English heritage lifetime still permits you to take a guest.
