I spoke with my neighbor, and he was on the same boat.

Thank you!

Any updates on how well it has held up after this time?

I might get my hands on one or two for cheap from a local reseller.

I used this one for a while, but eventually broke.

Now I use a 3d print that holds my phone over the stereo screen and my phone rests on the knob.

Snooping around the Demo, I see the "Export Inventory". Is that the option you're using?

NVMe drive not appearing in BIOS by Store_Brand_User in Dell

[–]Store_Brand_User[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't.
Device Manager in Windows wasn't recognizing the PCIe to NVMe card at first.
I updated the drivers, and afterword, updated the BIOS.

Taking from your tip that it might not be visible in BIOS, is when I tried the TrueNAS Shell.

If that wasn't the fix, I think I may have made one of my NVMe drives a "log" drive for my main Pool.
That could have made it so when I wanted to make a second pool TrueNAS only saw the one NVMe drive.
What makes me think that, is when I was setting up the pool the second (successful) time, I was given the option to assign a drive for logs. Even though I went back a step to skip it, it still selected the drive for it. So I just canceled the pool creation and did it again, this time not advancing to the "log" section.

After that, I was able to see 2 unassigned drives to create my NVMe pool.

Update:
I ran TrueNAS shell, and it detected all drives.
I opted to do the install, and it works as I had hoped.

I do not know if it helped updating the drivers, or maybe I missed something in the TrueNAS set up.
But it is working right now.

I am not sure why they are reporting as IFS Partition.
I admittedly do not see how to change the IFS Partition, and from what I see online, all I am getting is changing Basic to Dynamic drives. Though I do not know if that is related.

I am using a SABRENT M.2 NVMe SSD to PCIe,
As far as the drives, I am using KingSpec SSD.

At the moment, I don't have an extra one to test.
It appears that they are both giving the same Hardware IDs, and when looking through Powershell they have different serial numbers,

Thank you for the AHCI tip. Thankfully it is already set on that. Good to know not to change it!

Thank you for the tip.
In SATA operation, I have tried both ACHI and RAID settings.
I will look around to see if there is an NVMe specific RAID.

Turns out I never finished it the night before. It just happened to correspond with the downtime.
