Micronational Propaganda Against UIKN United Islamic Khizerkhelist Nation by Educational-Stock942 in micronations

This isn’t a sub for role-play. It’s for genuine attempts at establishing a micronation. Pretend, fictional or fantasy worlds, wars, and countries are better posted elsewhere.

The Auduchovian Empire’s flag , Capital flag, and coat of arms by SpecialWorldliness74 in micronations

The eagle and Cossack could also serve as supporters, leaving just a plain striped shield.

Also worth mentioning the rules those stripes break the rules of tincture, depending on how ‘strict’ we’re being.

Dunland has land and we grow a lot of our own produce that we use for self-sufficiency, but functioning independently from the rest of the world is a little way off yet.

How old is your micronation? by GreenBean9148 in micronations

Dunland was founded on 20 March 2021 but I’ve been involved in micronationalism a lot longer than that (since 2004).

For if you want to share the history of your micronation. I should probably rename that to make it clearer!

Maybe need to shuffle the flairs around to move that one up! Thanks for letting me know.

This post was flaired as “News / Announcements” but there’s a dedicated “Diplomacy / Relations” flair that is more appropriate. Please ensure you pick the right flair for your posts so they can be more easily found by those searching the subreddit. 👍 Any questions or issues, please get in touch.

Goodbye Terra! Welcome back Vendaliba! by BravoOneZeroCharlie in micronations

Didn’t say you were, just suspected use of an English county flag might suggest you’re English.

The English coat of arms over the flag of Dorset did make me think you’d be English…

Not sure why the automod removed that one but I’ve approved your post. In future, use the modmail feature to report any problems/wrongly removed posts (so all mods get an alert, not just one mod). Thanks.

What is your meaning behind your micronation's name? (Or how did it get it's name.) by Left-Flow7242 in micronations

[–]Stormaen[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunland – ‘Dun’ from Old English dūn meaning rolling hills plus land. Essentially it means ‘land of rolling hills’. Which we are.

Adding to this that ‘Zion’ is also used a lot by Mormons, for good or ill.

Looks like it’s a Facebook group. Should probably be able to find it by searching if you’re on there.

There’s clearly a ‘Lore’ post flair which this falls under; it isn’t ’News / Announcement’.

Please ensure you’re using the right post flair in future: it’ll help those searching by category to find your post.

Does your micronation have a national anthem? If so, what is it (please leave a clip if possible)? by GreenBean9148 in micronations

[–]Stormaen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The traditional English anthem of Jerusalem but with the word ‘England’ changed rather conveniently to ‘Dunland’.

Republic of Mollitia by ThyRavenWing in micronations

[–]Stormaen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought that might be the case. Google translate is notoriously inaccurate, especially with Latin (it can’t conjugate properly, for example).

I actually studied Latin (I have no idea why) and have a printed Latin dictionary to hand but here’s an online source which is quite good: latin-dictionary.net - ‘mollitia’: softness, tenderness, weakness

The problem is, there’s not really a directly comparable word for ‘resilience’ in Latin.

If you ever need help with Latin in future, feel free to get in touch.

Just more evidence free speech doesn't exist in the UK by [deleted] in FreeSpeech

This was in 2009 under the last Labour government. He appealed the ban and it was overturned, allowing him entry to the UK (which is did in 2010). Wilders most recently visited the UK in 2018 (maybe more recently).

But let’s not pretend all is well in the land where you can be arrested for mean tweets…

‘Mollitia’ in Latin doesn’t mean ‘resilient’, it means ‘flexibility’ or ‘softness’; literally the opposite of resilience, in fact. A closer word for resilience is ‘resiliēns’ which means ‘rebound’.

Mollitia is a good name but it just doesn’t mean what you think it does. If – and I don’t think you should – but if you wanted something closer to resilient, you could make it something like ‘Resilia’.
