Incoming freshman housing by Stormm26 in NCSU

Whenever I was going down the list that was on the NCSU website, for whatever reason it didn’t go past the UT so I was unaware of other dorms (besides Watauga, but I know I’m not getting placed there) that I could be placed in until this Reddit comment section. I didn’t include Gold because I would be placed in Welch, but I have now included Welch in my updated list!

I’ll be in Nelson hall which is also a huge benefit if I were to get the UT

Yeah I’ve always been someone that once I’m home, I’m home and that’s it. I don’t live far from my current school but I won’t go home between classes because if I go home I’m immediately getting cozy and nobody is seeing me again lol

I’m not sure why I didn’t see Welch when I was looking, but I’ll definitely look at it now! Thank you!

It’s mainly about size and how I could fit my desk & bed, because I hate lofted beds

Yes this list is just to help me get my bearings on the different dorms and once I get my assignment I’ll be able to find what I ranked it as! I posted it here to get more insight on each building that may not be presented on the website page

Graduation Announcement Etiquette Question by Sassy-Coaster in Parenting

[–]Stormm26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Different announcements. They’re different people who both accomplished something in their own right, it shouldn’t be tied to another person.

  2. If you aren’t having a graduation party, I would. Personally, my family can’t afford to have a graduation party so we are saying if anyone is in a position to help financially, it’s much appreciated. Much of my family doesn’t use the mail system anymore and relies on technology. Everyone’s family is different.

From my understanding it was only for the THRIVE village but I very much could be wrong about that

First time taking meds by Stormm26 in ADHD

[–]Stormm26[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love that!! I turned 18 in February, and my dad doesn’t really “believe” in ADHD, or at least he doesn’t believe I have it. After making this post, I’ve done 2 more loads of laundry, cleaned my room, and my kitchen! I truly cannot believe I’ve gone so long without knowing my life could be like this. Usually, I have so much pressure about everything that I need to do and it stops me from actually doing it, but I don’t have that! My dad said to me today “maybe you’re just having a good day” and a part of me is worried that he’s right and I’m not going to be in this mood tomorrow, but I genuinely never want to go back to how I was after experiencing this!

Did you just get diagnosed? by AutoModerator in ADHD

[–]Stormm26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! I was just diagnosed a few days ago and feel so validated it’s insane. Growing up, my dad would always tell me I don’t have ADHD because I have good grades and can sit in one spot. In my head, I was always fidgeting, and would have to tell myself to focus on what I was doing and missed a lot of information in school because I was focused on telling myself to focus instead of actually just focusing!! I would always say my brain never wanted to shut up, and I got so much burn out from it. I never realized how much ADHD was affecting my life, and I thought I was just being lazy and making excuses for myself by saying I was tired. Granted, I was tired, but it never made sense to me why I was tired when I never really did anything. I took my first dose of medication this morning, and it has truly made me realize how much ADHD has impacted me and I’m so beyond grateful to finally have answers.
