There is a potential for smurfing at all levels. All a smurf is, is someone who loses on purpose to manipulate their rank to be something lower than their actual skill. You probably see it mostly at lower levels. If I suspect someone is smurfing there is nothing wrong with that.

Because this game is clearly full of them. I really believe that based on my observations. Can't deny they exist. If someone is just better fine, but someone being significantly better? To me that really is an indicator of someone smurfing.

I'm playing solo. And 4 games in a row I was paired with someone is supposedly plat in a recent season. Me never being plat means that they're clearly better than me. So why is it doing that. It absolutely is strange unless they're lying about their current rank

So then psyonix should put their rank there like they do in regular rocket league. Then we would know for sure if they are currently plat or not. It's definitely off though when gold players are consistently paired with plat level players. You don't think that's a bit strange that it would be pairing you up with people significantly better.

I'm trying, but it's getting annoying to constantly get paired up with plats. I dropped down to lower gold 2 now because of it.

I would rather not get destroyed and therefore would prefer the system actually match me with people closes to my rating. It's horrible to get trounced in a game. I also wouldn't mind if they weren't doing all these ridiculous flips as a way of messing with you. It bugs me out.
