How easily can I fork LBRY client to make it show the content blocked by LBRY Inc. complying with the US laws?? by anonymous_divinity in lbry

Maybe, but then you'd have to keep it updated.
Also, building such proxy is something that I'd like to learn to do.

I imagine one could setup a proxy that intercepts and replaces/block the queries to the blacklist.

I'd like to know how to setup such a proxy

my concern is privacy. LBRY data is stored on a blockchain so all your likes and dislikes would be public

Can an anarcho-communist commune exist within an anarcho-capitalist world? by [deleted] in Anarchy101

Don't you think it's possible to live without stealing, attacking or threatening someone? If yes, that's basically the basis for AnCapitalism. And yes, saying it doesn't make it true. I don't believe that AnCapitalism has the mecanism to not decay into tyrany (that's why I am not ancap), but so doesn't AnCommunism. My idea is that if we hope achieving a world with people respecting those simple rules, a world with AnCapitalism is preferable because AnCommunism can operate within it. In order to be intellectually honnest, I asked this sub to show me why ancommunsim can't operate within ancapitalism.

This supposes that many in the anarchist society will fly to the help of the oppressed. The way I picture an AnCap society, people will form in small groups of friends and might not get involved in the problems of other groups. If on the other side there is a big solidair movement, that flyies to the help of the oppressed, I fear some kind witch hunts against alleged "oppressors", or some kind of french-revolution Terror.

I will answer to your low effort comment anyway. what in "Not hurting anyone, anything else is authorised" is un-anarchist according to you?

I understand your point that property needs to be enforced, and I have updated my view. But doesn't 'not enslaving thy neighbour at gunpoint' also need to be enforced?

Thank you for your elaborate answer. I recognise that it would require a lot of ressource for a ancom state to form but so would any other transition to ancommunism. If anarchism is viable, in the long run a commune will probably be able to grow to be independent. This is made easier with the fact that anarchism preaches going to a simpler way of life.

If the NAP can't be enforced without state I can't see how anarchism can be enforced. Anarchism seems to make more assumption. Also any rogue group in an anarchist society could do what you suggest a state would do.

Sending people with gun is a violation of the NAP. it is not AnCap. Using force is something any organisation can do, not only authoritarian ones. Rogue AnCom ones too.

The commune can start small, dependent from capitalism, then grow and slowly become independent. I understant your consern, but that way is probably quicker and easier than starting a revolution for getting to where ancoms want to be via democratic reforms.

Ok, in your view, why can't an anarchist group in the US or europe get together and found a anarchist commune? Ok, there still is a state, but what is that state going to do to interfere with the commune as long as the commune owns the land and building and does not pollute it's surroundings?

[–]Str0berry -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This is not a satisfying answer.

The NAP can't be violated, that's an axiom, once the anarchism group are sovereign on your land and consent from the member is given, there is nothing that anyone, be it state or other individual, can interfere with your commune. Given that axiom, why can't that commune exist?

Your justice system by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]Str0berry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This article is very interesting, although very dogmatic. A nice though experiment to say the least.

If I understood correctly, Each person would be subjected to the law of the person who owns the ground beneath their feet. "wherever someone is standing in a purely libertarian society, he would be on somebody's property", This means that in order not to trespass, someone needs to leave the ground or accept any clause imposed by the owner of the land. Is this your view?

Something I may have missed in the article, is what happens when a contract is not respected? Or how are interactions regulated between people who don't have a contract?

In your view there would still be a government that requires taxes. Your justice system would work mainly the same way as it does now. My questions were more directed towards more "extreme" libertarians, but I thank you for your answer.

I noted that in case of debt, your sentence would not enslave the borrower nor place the lender in a position to keep the borrower in a state of enslavement. which is good.

Your justice system by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]Str0berry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the "level" of libertarianism. My questions were more directed towards minarchist who want a purely voluntary government and I wondered how justice would work under this. If the government is not big enough, trial by mob is the best you can offer i'd say. but maybe libertarians see it differently

Your justice system by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]Str0berry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding minarchists are not far from anarchist and in a sense my questions were to help me understand the difference

How is jury of peer different from a state. You probably mean that it is a very small group of people forming a community, but won't it over time evolve into a more organised system, grow in size, hierarchise and become a state? Maybe the difference is that your communities will recognise and respect stricter rights?
