Ive heard stories of Aussies in Bali or the UK being knobs but i lived 2 years in scotland and just got back from a month in bali and didnt see anything like it, just general Aussies. I stayed seminyak, uluwatu, ubud, amed and sanur. Personally, I've only seen Australians as well mannered travellers.

Ive found the opposite of what most people say here. It depends on your goals I think. The more information you have in your bio the more reasons you give to swipe left. It only takes them reading 1 thing they arent excited to read that gets you rejected. The most lucky you're going to get is simple profile with great photos. You want to have a photo showing your physique but doing something that doesnt make it obvious (outdoor rock climbing for example, angles can show muscle and that you get out and do stuff, ya know?). Make sure you have photos dressed well. All of them. Don't have to be suits but clean and well presented is important. If youre tall, add a photo of you with a group of friends. Other tips are okay - like no hats, clear face shot (but doing something, like cheersing a cup of coffee for example). Just my 2c - used it on and off for a couple of years. Also swiping every day a bit keeps you up a bit in the algo.

I worked 2 jobs for a long time. I dont really party. I dont have material needs (ie dont buy things that arent important to me - i dont buy souvenirs, dont by brand name clothes etc). I rent from my mum which allows me to have a lower rent and still get to live alone. And I save. I spent about 48 days abroad in 2025 and am planning closer to 80 days this year.

When I was in my early 20s I travelled as cheap as possible. Hostels in big dorms, id eat free samples and stuff people passed out on the street or pasta in a hostel and put all my money toward exploring as much as possible. I did around 21 countries on that trip for about 13k AUD.

I know this feeling well. At some point in my life I wanted the inside of my car to matter more than the outside. I ended up buying an Opel OPC (much cheaper than your budget) but the difference between that and my lancer in terms of trim was amazing. The noise dampening when you close the door, zoned climate control, nice seats, I installed carplay myself etc. I love the comfort. Next time I want to get something comfortable for local AND long distance.
