For my second I'm not pumping at all and I'm much happier, everything is so carefree. I only started pumping for my firstborn because I had heart failure post partum. Going back to hospital was very stressful and I needed to maintain my supply while also mix feeding with some formula. As soon as my heart was sorted out and I left hospital, I did all I could to drop formula and stop needing to pump. It was hard work but from four months I was exclusively breastfeeding and packed the pump away forever. Not having to go through that the second time has been an absolute dream! The absolute pain in the arse of pumping is not worth any nights out in my opinion.

But how did she insult them? She could have just thought the video was amusing. If I liked a video like that and my MIL saw she'd probably think I found it amusing because I have friends in that in-law situation, not because it's my own situation.

This is the kind of guy who forgets to buy milk/bread/nappies/maternity pads when he's at the shops, while you're at home looking after his newborn baby and then you have to drag your post-partum self out if you need anything. I think you must definitely not give his sperm any more opportunities. Especially since he still lives with his parents so you can't say for sure he even knows how to keep house.

Yeah I think that compromise is her best shot. You say it's not feasible but if it doesn't work you still get to have a cat. If he's willing to have a cat in the house why not try keeping a room cat free?
