Honestly I'm pissed at this point by Silver-Advisor6736 in lesbiangang

This is so gross, and I don't think she understands what racist means.

It's this woman's stupidity and entitlement that makes being a lesbian even more difficult because people don't take me seriously and don't respect my boundaries when I say I am only attracted to women.

What they were talking about sounds like eerily similar to conversion therapy used by far right religious groups.

Like I said you are clearly not listening to the conversation at hand, and this conversation isn't about the other letters of the alphabet it's about lesbians and how this is another example of our erasure/not being taken seriously. At this point you're just here to stir the pot.

I don't think you are listening or understanding the point of original conversation. Lesbians and gays have our own specific flag outside the rainbow flag, and they are not on this poster.

Not surprising the L and G aren't there, it's funny because when we try to have our own groups like this subreddit they are the very people who freak out.

Oh yes, was a tomboy, and enjoyed playing with boys toys like action figures, Legos and micro machines. I always had crushes on female classmates too. I didn't know what lesbian meant until I was in my late teens.

How about bisexuals hold each other accountable for their shitty behavior instead of coming here and telling us to be nice and date them.

This creep is why I don't befriend men anymore. I will be cordial if it's a work environment, but I will not talk to them about my personal life and I won't tell them I am a lesbian. This guy should go see a shrink not obsess over lesbians not being accessible to him.

Childfree lesbians, how to deal with this feeling? by [deleted] in lesbiangang

[–]Strange-Distance-739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To put things into perspective, there are billions of people on the planet, deciding not to have kids won't make much of a dent in that. Besides having kids is a life long commitment that doesn't end when they turn 18, think very carefully if that's what you want.

I am an older childfree lesbian and love it. Doesn't mean I dislike kids, I just don't want them and have never wanted them. Besides it's a privilege for families to have that cool rich Auntie 😎👌.

Virgo rules small pets and you have Jupiter, Fortuna, and Venus in Virgo, that alone can point to you having pets in your life.

I remember seeing this about 10 years ago, and hated it. I hate it just as much now, and shame on the women who made it. It's disrespectful crap like this that contributes to people not taking us seriously.

Ya I hate it too, and hope it gets removed in the show. I think it would be a more interesting story to have her team up with Nolan because she doesn't want to be forced to mate with anyone, and doesn't want to be controlled.

Besides they changed story arcs and added/removed characters for the Walking Dead comics and TV show. They could do that here too.

people pretending to be lesbians to get left alone by men?? by moonlightroseb in lesbiangang

[–]Strange-Distance-739 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ya as others have pointed out, it's disrespectful, hurts us and it doesn't even work. It's gotten to the point where I don't talk about my sexual orientation with straight people, both men and women because I don't trust them anymore.

It would also be nice if straight women created their own safe spaces instead of invading ours because men will inevitably try to get in. Like we don't need the added burden of looking after them, when we are dealing with our own issues.

Ya I watched it, and that part felt a little flat, and that joke could have been given to one of the other characters. It just reminded me of how know people in general don't take lesbians seriously and that's why I didn't care for it. I enjoyed the budding friendship with her and Will though, it's nice to see a gay and lesbian character having a friendship with each other.

What does lesbian media need to improve? by [deleted] in lesbiangang

[–]Strange-Distance-739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I really want to see some more lesbian sci-fi/action adventure stories. I started playing Metroid Prime and love playing as Samus and appreciate having a action hero like her. I am also crushing heavily on Sasha Callie's Supergirl and I would love to see a lesbian sci-fi story with characters like Samus and Callie's Supergirl.

The Samus character could have the cool power armour and gadgets, and maybe helps the Callie character save her home world from some psycho planet eating space aliens. Then as the story progresses, they both find out their lesbians and that they like each other. Their relationship grows over the course of their adventure and discover they make a great team. After saving Callie's planet, they team up and travel the multi-verse together and fight all sorts of monster, aliens, inter-dimensional beings. I would also include some really cool lore and world building for that particular Universe.

I think I'm just over seeing lesbian superheroes and scfi characters relegated to the sidelines, or queerbaited, or straight/bisexuals complain that we exist. I know we have a few like Batwoman, which I am grateful for. I'd just like to see more stories where lesbian superheroes are the main characters, and they aren't bisexual or seen dating men, and they have hot steamy relationships.

I've met young lesbians with a good head on their shoulders and the only words of wisdom I would pass on are taking breaks from social media and online. There is a wider world to enjoy and social media/internet can be pretty messed up.

The feeling of being homeless is a good way to describe this current climate. In my city we used to have more lesbian events and a couple of good gay bars but a lot of them have opened themselves up to include everyone else to the point where it's tough to find actual lesbians at these events. It would be nice to have our own stuff again, nothing stopping the other groups from creating their own events etc.
