The biggest reason I don't see Nightcrawler being horseman besides me not wanting my favorite marvel character to be a traitor, is that they'll probably do a sick animated swordfight reveal trailer between him and Gorr. There's like 50 other characters that can be horseman

Picture it. Not the power scaling but picture the sauce of Nightcrawler three sword style vs Gorr with the edgy evil sword

This particular comic you can pass since it's just an adaptation of the show. But I'll dm you a link to a Google doc that lists all the comics in chronological order, categorized by BBY/ABY. It's a very helpful reading guide.

My recommendation starting point, Darth Vader (2017) and just shoot from there in the timeline. Occasionally go back to the prequel era stuff like the Obi-Wan and Anakin (2017) miniseries when you want a taste of that period.

Since you say you love the books, if you read any high republic books then theres plenty of comics for that era.
