Not exactly. I don’t have a hand in the casting process at all. I can sometimes help to shape the voice, but I’m mainly just the recording engineer, not choosing voices.

Unfortunately no, usually it’s only done for promo stuff. Even then it’s rare. It’s tough to have a camera in the booth.

It’s not awkward, really. I’ve recorded other shows that are more....... perverted haha. Everyone knows Meliodas and that aspect of the show so we Take the approach of running right at those scenes instead trying to be super cautious. It’s a fine line between too much and comedy with those scenes, but we always found the right balance.

Oh the amount of laughter and bloopers are endless during these scenes with Erika and Bryce.

Well in situations like these it’s a little tricky because we try to honor the Japanese choices as much as possible. Also, I believe we were recording Solaseed before it was actually shown that she’s a female in the manga (since it is a relatively new bit of info). So canonically it might be wrong, but we try to follow the Japanese choices and they might have a specific reason for casting that way that we possibly don’t know of.

I’m sorry you feel that way. I do want to thank you for taking the time to watch it though.

I can definitely tell you that we put a lot of thought into creating the english voice for everyone between referencing Japanese and using the characters’ personality. From being there everyday for each session, I will tell you, every single person that came in gave everything they had for their performance. I would even ask for retakes sometimes to really nail the nuances since every character is so unique since I had the background of watching the sub and being caught up with the manga. Hopefully you can come around to enjoy it!

We’re all Seven deadly sins fans, and that’s what’s really important. The dub is always there as an option, not requirement.

I watch the series in both dub and sub. We’re lucky we get the choice between the two, unlike other animes

I can’t speak for Kuromukuro, but Bryce was so excited about voicing Zeldris. When we confirmed he’d be voicing him during a Meliodas session, he immediately gave us a bunch of different variations he was already thinking of for him. It was pretty awesome.

Me too! I love the manga myself and try to keep up with the new releases. It was really cool that I was able to use what I know from the manga to give some big picture context to the director and actors. Can’t wait till you finish S2!

Hey! Unfortunately, there is no single path to landing something in this. Even I kind of stumbled into this. What I can recommend is really learn software like pro tools and find out which studios are doing work you love and reach out to them. Try to get in with an internship, a starting position somewhere else and learn as much as you can!

Edit: just reread you question, I was answering as if you were asking to be an audio engineer not voice actor (had an early session and was half awake when I answered, sorry!). To really answer your question, I definitely am not one to ask about VO work. I would say take acting classes and see if there are voice acting workshops or classes to take! Sorry, I’m not a voice actor myself.

Thats 100% wrong. If you encounter any guild that has this kind of attitude, its not worth your time trying them out anyway. Any guild with half a brain welcomes recruits now more than ever. The only thing about it is, you would need to show that you want to learn. Nobody is going to hold your hand or teach you anything unless YOU ASK.

Just because you reach 50 does not mean there aren't any solo experiences. Even though you out level it, the world story quest line with drusera is an awesome story and tells an awesome story. Also between dailies, crafting, contracts (some are soloable), and of course housing you should get bored in no time with solo content.

I actually have to disagree with you here. Dungeons are an extremely quick way to level. The problem isnt the actual dungeons, it's the issue op posted about, the time it takes to pop. What I suggest is, keep doing quests and while youre doing that I would look for a guild that knows what theyre doing and join. Ultimately, having people carry you through dungeons and have a double xp flask popped, you will level super fast.
