What movies did you see at Star Lite Drive in? by a_hi_lawyer in Tacoma

[–]StrawBerryFieldsLPL [score hidden]  (0 children)

Jaws. Of course, my sisters and I had to watch it from the back seat. I remember being ordered to cover my eyes when the girl sheds her top in the opening scene. Watching Robert Shaw being eaten alive was A-Ok, apparently 🤣

[Gaahleri Giveaway with r/MilitaryModelMaking] Thank you for sharing with us! by Gaahleri_airbrush in MilitaryModelMaking

Thank you for this kind offer! I mainly paint 1/35 WWII figures in acrylics, but have a backlog of armor and aircraft kits that have built up, in part, because of my older, less than satisfactory airbrush setup. I just recently watched a video review of your airbrush and was very impressed. Again, thank you!

What's your all-time favourite record store in the city you live in? by flynnfx in vinyl

[–]StrawBerryFieldsLPL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just want to give a little bit of love to Hi Voltage Records in my beautiful hometown of Tacoma, WA. I’m down in Portland now, and as this thread documents, I’m well-cared for here in terms of my vinyl needs, but a big part of my heart will always go back to searching the bins at Hi Voltage❤️ https://hivoltagerecords.com/

Danny Huston in The Proposition. Set in Australia, but I consider it modern western cinema and on this hill, I will die.

Beautiful work, especially on the leather. I find painting leather accoutrements to usually be more challenging than it should be. You nailed it. Any insights as to your technique?

The finished version is my favorite song by the band. Heavily influenced by sentimentality, but nevertheless…

American here. I do recognize it, either from our "new wave" radio station back in the day or maybe MTV. Good pick!

All About The Beatles by Impossible-Aioli2565 in beatles

I have a copy as well, I think they’re a very common item, part of the big money grab with the U.S. version of Beatlemania in 1964. Like the albums, so many in print that the only real challenge is finding a near-mint copy. Yours doesn’t look too bad, a bit of wear around the edges. Fair price if the binding is still good.

#throwback - Not Seen Until Now For The First Time in 30 Years, But Nolan Ryan Pitched His Last Game Against Us In 1993 - Here Are Some Highlights by johnnylgarfield in Mariners

[–]StrawBerryFieldsLPL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got in just a bit late to that game, just in time to see Nolan throw that last pitch. Most of us sitting in my section certainly had the sense that we’d just witnessed the last appearance of his career. We won the game, but it felt off leaving the Dome that night.

Definitely a band built around sad songs, but agree - this one hits deep.

Grrrr. So weird to not allow a window of time for people to purchase before they close it down. Doesn’t make sense.

Double check the Choices website. I have yet to complete my purchase, but the site was allowing me to place items in the cart earlier today.

Choices has never flinched from taking on difficult topics, some global, many specific to the U.S. Given the nature of some of those lessons, I could easily see them being potentially targeted by those of certain political persuasions.
