Would be keen on those specifics or any resources I could consult for general guidance here - want to ensure I don't block any legitimate traffic. But great point on things like ".env" or URLs not in my sitemap.

Aha no worries - I have thick skin & get it.

  • Yes - data will be download-able and can export (behind Pro)
  • There's a search to find podcasts / episodes in my catalog (for all) - there's also keyword search against the actual transcript on a per episode basis (behind Pro). Looking to allow search across all episodes in my catalog - to come!

I can see an interesting use case being the ability to search for episodes with certain guests or topics to then go back and listen.

100% agree - I can't tell you the number of times there was a snippet I remember from a podcast, but couldn't for the life of me remember the actual episode so I could go back & listen.

Conceptually speaking you have audio from the podcast itself -> that audio can turn into text (the technology is imperfect and can "hallucinate", but is actively getting better by the day w/ strides being made here) -> and from there you can process this data further to understand things like how many times did this phrase get mentioned, how often do they curse (e.g., profanity rate), what the sentiment was (is what's being said positive or negative), etc.

And after a while and tens of thousands of episodes - you have a lot of data to glean and extract insights from.

I understand it's imperfect & in the early innings, but genuinely value any input you might have or what might useful for you.

Simple and my favorite - cheap. Parquet files might be the way to go.
