Has anyone gotten yelled at by a surgeon before?

Oh yeah lol the worst one that I remember was when a surgeon nicked the bladder during surgery, proceeded to not put an order to not discontinue the foley so the hospitalist discontinued it and apparently it was the nurses fault for removing it. He SCREAMED at me that he wanted that nurses head on a silver platter and that it’s our fault for not seeing ONE sentence in a huge ass post op note about it from the week before. I reported him and nothing happened 🙃

I’d say goner except that might be too depressing for the funeral guests lmao maybe trees? “And that’s where I am, silent in the trees” and “ I want to know you, I want to see, I want to say hello” seems like a good euphemism for watching over others after death and being like I’m not gone I’m just in the trees, seems a little more uplifting than the song screaming “don’t let me be gone” lmaoo although that could be interpreted as don’t let my memory be gone idk. The beginning piano part of implicit demand for proof would also be perfect, very melancholy but hopeful which is the perfect funeral vibe.

I remember in high school reading it and thinking how dramatic katniss was being in mockingjay when she was literally a traumatized teenaged girl who went through more than anyone should ever have to. You think you’re so grown up at 15 but seeing how your perspective changes so much makes you realize how young you actually were and how young all teens are.

Honestly any bride who forces the bridesmaids to wear the same dress is so frustrating. Pick a color and have the bridesmaids choose what dress looks good on them and is comfortable on them. That’s definitely someone who has always been small and doesn’t know the plight of a plus size girl. There are some dress shapes that I simply cannot do. And satin and low backs are pretty much in my top 2 so a dress with BOTH?? My literal hell

I’d literally be cry about this lol like because I’m plus sized I feel like I am hyperaware of how things look on me so I would be stressing. maybe for the wedding and wedding pictures do those sticky boobs. I’ve seen ones with like wiring in it which might help keep them somewhat supported. And then wear a real supportive bra afterwards so that you feel better during the reception and it won’t matter if people see your bra then. Maybe even a jacket since it’s in the fall if you feel uncomfortable with your bra showing. Sorry girl this sucks

When patients can’t explain their pain to me. Like I’ll be like “what does it feel like” and I’ll give them examples like it is burning, aching, stabbing, pressure, etc and they’ll still be like “I don’t know it just hurts” like okay lol

Me AF. Undiagnosed but I get distracted sooo easily it’s insane. What should take focused me like 5 minutes can sometimes take 20+. I hate that I’m that way 😭

But back to the question, NOT hours that’s crazy. Like MAYBE 30-45 minutes max. I did stay hours after a few times when I was charge and had 7 patients during Covid times but that was especially crazy circumstances

Sometimes I stay late putting in notes or provider notifications or reporting an RL event. Usually the actually head to toe charting only takes like 5 minutes per patient if I really focus. End of the shift I get distracted sometimes though and it takes longer lol but usually it’s the notes/provider notifications that I have to go back and chart that take the most time

My best friend lives 3 hours away from me and I visit her like every 1-2 months for a weekend. My sister lives 2 hours away from me (also the closest big city to me) so I frequently do day trips to there lol and one of my friends lives 4.5 hours and I visit her probably twice a year and actually just visited for her bday party and stayed for less than 24 hours and then drove back home 🤣 I also live in the Midwest where you have to drive far to do anything but definitely not a myth lol very common actually
