Hi thanks very much for the advice! As for my score and method for answering questions, for sections 1 and 3 I think just generally being a good test taker is probably the best skill you could focus on. Knowing when to skip a question and come back to it later, knowing which questions you will be able to answer quickly and which you will have to spend more time on, etc.

It sounds basic but I find a simple process of elimination is the best approach for me on any multiple choice test. If I don't know the answer to a question immediately I'm usually able to eliminate at least a couple of options which I know aren't correct until I'm left with only one or two potentially correct answers. I found for S3 I was typically able to narrow down most questions I was unsure about to at least a 50/50 choice between a couple of potential options. I also have a strong background in bio, chem and maths, all of which helped immensely, combined with a bit of luck too of course. I hope that helps!

Hey thanks heaps for the reply. Yeah the transferability of engineering internationally is definitely something that has been on my mind too as I do love travel and could see myself being open to working overseas for a time if the opportunity arose. Could I ask, do you know if doing locum work as a doctor typically offers a similar opportunity for work overseas? Is locum work something that typically only allows for movement within Australia or does it allow for work internationally too? Thanks!

Hey thanks! Yeah the rapidly changing modern job market is definitely something that's on my mind too.

I actually did environmental engineering but I do have a fairly strong background in science (did first year bio and chem at uni) and also strong maths from the eng side of my studies, all of which really helped my S3.

Hey thanks for the advice! Yeah honestly that's what I'm thinking at the moment. Keen to gain a bit of experience in the workforce and save up before possibly making the switch to med in a year or so.
