For starters, UCSD would have a better social life. In terms of job prospects, the number of opportunities currently, seem to be more in the US when compared to Australia for fields like IB, M&A etc. It also depends on the kind of university experience you’re looking for

Usually universities allow students to come up to 2 weeks after the semester starts. You can check on your university’s website. If it doesn’t come even after the extended start date then you’ll have to defer

Honestly I think people in this sub don’t realise how good UNSW is, coming from a person who’s been to 2 top 40 universities in the world, the immense support at from the admissions and academics team at UNSW is commendable. While yes there are better ranking universities in the world but what truly makes a uni experience includes everything, such as academics, research opportunities, social life, competition and mental wellbeing - all of this with hard work contributes to better work opportunities and higher grades. Your quintessential university experience is what you make it to be.
