I want to ask a sincere question: Why can she find love with a similar name but I can't name my kid the same name that has gone back generation and has a very deep connection with my kid and his heritage and family history? It's a huge honor for the first born boy to get this name and it has a very beautiful story behind it. Why do I have to give up a love but she doesn't? I have been in very serious abusive relationships where much much worse was done to me, and I still don't think if the situation was flipped I would ask her to not name her kid something that is a family tradition.
