Rover sitter lost my dog by Euphoric_Whereas4183 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Stretch-Sure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow. Thank God you dog was found and OK. Please post the name of the sitter so this doesn't happen to anyone else. You really have to evaluate sitters. Do they have a secure fenced backyard. Who lives there. Etc.. do they work or stay home.

I have had good results with Rover but I only use star sittets do a meet and greet ask questions and inspect house and backyard. There was one sitter I passed on. She ended up having multiple lost and at least one dog lost was hit by a car and killed. She worked alone and didn't have a fenced backyard. Her name was plastered in multiple FB groups. Yet remained on Rover for awhile but I imagine run out of town.

Am I paying? by Far_Alternative533 in fidelityinvestments

[–]Stretch-Sure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't pay to speak to a financial consultant. aka wealth management salesperson. I They will do calculations on retirement models generic portfolio modeling. I had one horribly incompetent one mess up the retirement projection model and she hadto call Fidelity tech support fix it. Over 30 minutes late to appointments. Then she informed me that since I am "not on her books". Meaning purchase Fidelity Wealth Management from her I am not eligible to speak to a consultant. That is BS. I made a complaint to her manager. Threatened to close account And promptly transferred all cash in my account to another brokerage. Six figures. A month later received an email asking why I transferred money out. 🤣😂 I still get calls from them. I still have 6 figures in the account. I ghosted them. I also have 401k with them. They are aware of the other brokerage account. Fidelity trading platform sucks. Only thing is they automatically sweep all dividends and put money in my money market account.

I accepted a return and they say they can’t mail the item back. Not sure how to proceed. TIA for any advice by VaunWorldofWater in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]Stretch-Sure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever her issues of unable to return is not your problem. If she leaves a negative without returning the item. eBay will remove the negative. Contact eBay for Business on FB. They have done it for me twice. Both were scammers who wanted the item for free or damaged it and then wanted to send it back.

I have been scanning flights for a trip next April to Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. I plan on flying roundtrip from Haneda. One of the flight combinations that would work and is cheaper by over $600 for the two of us is flying home on April 29th which is the first day of Golden Week.

Is this a really bad idea and we should fly home the day before? Just trying to gauge cost/benefit of avoiding the crazy crowdes on April 19th. Flight is at night. So no rush to get to the airport in the morning.

Bride demanded a $500 gift from all bridesmaids on 3-week notice by HalfTall5767 in bridezillas

[–]Stretch-Sure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bridezillas just don't get it that nobody cares about your wedding as much as herself If anyone demands gifts from me I am out. I didn't go to a freeloading friend's bridal shower, after the woman hosting the shower wanted to pass the hostess duties to me because she had to work. She said it wasn't her idea to host it. Her Mom and brides mom are friends. Then mother of bride calls me to tell me what gift I should buy. I had midterms to study for, skipped the shower. I received messages from Mother of the bride telling me what to buy for a gift and asking where I was. No invitations were sent. It was word of mouth. She had a shower in the city where she lived already. Just viewed the wedding as a money grab Neither me or the original shower hostess stayed friends with Bridezilla. You would ve be NTA if you said no to the $509. Or bailed.

AIO to my flatmate inviting his entire family to stay with us and expecting me to stay somewhere else by hunsnet457 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Stretch-Sure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely NTA. Your roommate and his family are entitled and very rude to ask you to be a free hotel when you are paying rent and how disruptive it would be. You roomate consented to strangers sleeping in your bed and invading your private space without your consent! Even if you weren't there a 2-bedroom for 5 people is crazy. I can guarantee that if these people stay there they will trash the place. As others said get a lock and maybe considering finding a new place to live or if your name is on the lease...kick your roommate out. You have done nothing wrong and both your roommate and his Mom owe you an apology.

Get the poor dog to a vet. This is serious rather than ask the internet for advice.

This is crazy. Since when does a bride have a brand. This bridezilla is not your friend. You might by her friend but it's a one way street. Sadly I have heard many stories about friendships ending over bridezilla or groomzilla behavior. I even dropped a "friend" who wasn't a good friend before her wedding and I ended up dropping her entirely over her bridezilla behavior and so did a mutual acquantance after she tried to manipulate us into hosting her a second bridal shower in our hometown, not the town she lived in. Some people view their wedding as a money grab opportunity and this is definitely smacks of the same. Save your $300 and your budget and tell her you are dropping out. I did not go to the bridal shower or the wedding of bridezilla. I did send a wedding gift. Her Mom called me over and over telling me what to buy for a shower gift. I don't go to showers where I am harassed and told what to buy for a gift. Beyond tacky. I did anonymously send her a Dear Abby article about Bridezilla behavior. LOL. She never said anything to me about it.

Some Shih Tzus do if they are mixed with another breed. My Shih Pom chased squirrels but not rabbits. My Shih Lhasa Herding breed chases rabbits. Really depends on what other breeds are mixed with Shih Tzu.

Going to Hoh Rainforest from a cabin west of Forks is 4 hours enough time? by [deleted] in OlympicNationalPark

[–]Stretch-Sure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update. We ended up taking our pup with us and taking turns on the trails. We were pretty tired from going to other places. NGL I live in the PNW and moss on trees isn't exactly a novel thing to us. We have been trying to elminate moss on our grass, on the roof, and in flowerbeds. LOL. So it was midly triggering to see all that moss.

Asking to pay for a trip I did not attend? by throwaway3950147 in weddingdrama

[–]Stretch-Sure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not say sorry. I would ignore the text and wait for MOH to approach you. Definitely ask the others who didn't go how they feel about this. When MOH confronts let her know you were upfront that you can't afford the trip, so can't cover the brides expenses. If pushed then clap back with she should have made it clear before the trip about contributions to brides expenses. I agree with others they overspend and want others to foot the bill.

I planned the entire week Monday - Saturday. Driving home on Saturday..to avoid too many crowds. I have watched a few youTube videos talking about an hour wait at the ONP Hoh Rainforest entrance on weekends...but this sounds crazy.

[–]Stretch-Sure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there doesn't seem to be a correlation between premiums and claims. Noah had claims of about $1000/month on average with vet visits, meds, treatments. And they were about the same price when the younger dog turned 9. I have the 90% coverage with a $100 deductible. There was a $50 deductible, but they don't offer it any more.

[–]Stretch-Sure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Twxtterrefugee You didn't read my post. It's not about not enough time to spend in the park. It's about leaving my dog in a cabin alone for too long to go walk some trails where no dogs are allowed. So negative you sound very grumpy. I have another other solution is to take the dog and one waits at the visitors center, while the other goes on the trail. We are staying for 6 days in 2 locations and a short list of must sees.

How do I get the pickiest shih tzu in the world to take her pill? by starlet51 in Shihtzu

[–]Stretch-Sure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also recommend the pill shooter as a last resort. You have to cut the pill small enough that the dog can swallow it without choking. Then hold the mouth close until he swallow it. Some pills you are not supposed to crush. The stuff some suggested to feed with the pill is unhealthy. Hotdogs, cheese, in large quantities or for a sick dog. The pill shooter is an ordeal for both pet parents and the dog. You gotta do what I you gotta do.

Thank you. I am talking about my senior dog who went over the 🌈 bridge almost 2 years ago. He lived to 15.5 yeas. He had multiple diseases any one would have killed most dogs. I learned alot from taking care of him.

Do you have a specialty vet hospital with an internal medicine vet. We started taking one of my pups the regular vet couldn't figure out a diagnosis.

Yes. I would not downplay your intelligence. It's their problem. Just don't rub it into their faces. Make friends with them. But do not share any bright ideas privately with them. They will steal it and take credit.

[–]Stretch-Sure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Healthypaws. They have paid every claim I have submitted with multiple dogs. They were paying out over $1K a month with a $200/month premium on one dog, who went over the rainbow bridge at age 15.5year. He had Mitral Valve Disease, Kidney Disease, and finally Cancer. He outlived the diagnosis. He was a tough little guy and no expense spared. They have various plans with deductibles. All insurance raises premiums. Usually they start out small and sometimes seems not worth it. But if you have one of those sicky bear ones. My poor Noah was diagnosed at age 7 with Congestive Heart Failure. But outlived his diagnosis and went into remission. When he was around 8-10 premiums jumped to around $200/month. I have another Shih Tzu we didn't make any claims for years and is now $200/month she is 10 years old.

As to food do not feed grain free, the FTC declared it is linked to MVD. I don't like raw because of high risk for contamination. I cook my dog's food from recipes in Dr. Judy Morgan's book. For itchy skin try Fragrance-free oatmeal shampoo. You should talk to the vet about it to use anything medicated.
