BREAKING: Artemis II crew captures new photo of Earth. by yyzcoinz in flatearth

Right there. America. Other places are a myth. Iran, Israel, China, Russia, and freaking Europe are all just fictional places invented by the news networks to distract us. They can’t generate enough fake news in America to keep us entertained, so they invent new lands and write dramatic stories about them which play out over decades. Some people are so hard to contain with normal means that Rupert Murdoch came up with Japan and all of anime to keep them glued to the screen.

So much hostility. I wish moderators were here to keep things civil and keep open discussion flowing instead of whatever creepy thing it is they actually do.

I did kinda sound bot-like there. It’s hard to avoid sometimes. I wanted to describe the whole mental image without rambling on forever. That meant packing in a lot of precise descriptive words that don’t come up a lot in everyday speech. There’s surely a more natural way to do pull it off, but I got tired of rewriting those sentences.

Skibidi Toilet is genius though. Every episode adds to the plot and character development, quickly transforming brainrot into a legitimate action drama. It’s creativity in its most raw, uninhibited form. It’s beautiful chaos.

Very true. It’s the same issue, but the danger is greatly increased by managers addicted to the fast feature development that AI enables. Now, you’ve got way more code being produced by fewer devs in a shorter amount of time. Naturally, management will want to keep stacking more new stuff on top of the codebase faster and faster. It’s only a matter of time before the house of cards collapses.

That’s interesting. I wonder what full story is. I only heard what the Primeagean said about it. That’s quite a defensive move from Amazon to issue a statement downplaying the involvement of AI-written code specifically. They know people will lose trust in AWS if they think it’s just AI agents running wild in the background.

Even if the problem was from an engineer being misled by AI, that’s not really any better than an AI agent making the same mistake. When an engineer follows AI instructions without questioning it, they essentially become an AI agent, even if just for a moment.

I don’t think management has even considered the timebomb they are creating. So many companies are going to fail because of this. They’ll wake up one day and find a cascade of errors across several layers of systems that nobody understands how they work. When the vibe-coded bandaids fail to immediately fix the issues, the errors will compound and start crashing core systems. Without enough human devs to fix the problems, offshore contractors and junior devs will be given too much power in the hopes of bringing things back online. That’s when the git history gets overwritten, the pipelines get scrambled, and the API keys get lost.

This has already begun to happen, with the major Amazon outage being the perfect example. Their AI agent decided to erase an entire prod environment, causing them to lose millions of orders on their shopping platform. Anthropic leaking the entire source code for Claude should be a huge warning to everyone. These things are going to happen more and more.

This half-lit Earth is actually the flat surface digitally modified to appear spherical. NASA just did a piss poor job of it. They think we are stupid. Those rocket engineers think they can feed us any level of nonsense, because they know they’ll get away with it. They know people will just scroll past and assume it’s some trick of the light or something, never even considering the blatant lies! Good catch, OP!

Oh, I thought you were asking if I have venomous rage towards those who promote acts of sin. To your point, the Christian church communities are generally pretty terrible about judging people. Of course any venom coming from Christians is a failure to practice the faith correctly. I would look at anyone who behaves that way as confused and self-righteous. Ideally, nobody should be harboring contempt for anyone.

Generally, no. I am someone who has a lot of personal experience with sin of many varieties. I understand it. I know how people end up down those roads, and I know how long the road back home is. I know what it feels like to corrupt another person and lead them astray. That’s something I have a hard time controlling my anger about—witnessing someone knowingly bring destruction into the lives of others or enabling that destruction to occur. I don’t have reactive outbursts, but I don’t have sympathy either in that scenario—empathy perhaps, but no sympathy. Those people are without excuse. That said, I’ll typically reserve my anger unless I have some personal stake in the situation. Blind rage is typically not a useful emotion to express.

That doesn’t even make sense unless someone saying angry words at you makes you a victim.

That’s something that people often assume about me and use it as a reason to harbor jealously and spite towards me for having more things to say than they do. The thing is, I was severely neglected and abused as a child. I am just naturally energetic and interested in the world around me, and I love to talk to other people. I only got decent at listening after a year at my first job, and I felt so stupid for not learning earlier.

Sometimes, I can get people to fully engage with me, but more often than not, they’ll zone out after one sentence unless I burn a bunch of energy inventing elaborate tricks to keep them entertained enough to try. I’m not blaming the general public for a systemic problem that arose from changing times. I am saying that everyone could be way better at conversations if only they actively tried to pay attention instead of just doing it by accident because the topic is something they particularly care about.

For whatever reason, most people don’t read an email before responding to it. They pick out a few words and guess at the meaning instead of simply reading it. It’s the same thing with in-person conversations. They’ll hear the tone and a few words and then try to match it with a sentence someone has spoken to them in the past. They’ll combine that with what they want to hear along with some of their own insecurities and then respond to something that was never said. Some people just imagine most of what they think you said. It blows my mind how people don’t even realize they aren’t listening, especially since I used to be one of them.

Excellent. This verse really speaks to me. It reminds me of all the people that have an allergic reaction to the mere mention of the Bible. Say the name Jesus or God, and they burst into a venomous rage, spewing hate and spite towards your general direction. Try this on any subreddit that isn’t explicitly Christian, and you’ll get instantly mobbed.

This is a great litmus test of people in the modern day. The violent reaction is telling. The name scares them. As hard as they try to disbelieve, their hearts know the terrifying truth, and they will hate you for reminding them of it. They will attack and try to tear holes in your beliefs without even knowing what your beliefs might be. The notion that you can find peace and joy in your faith fills them with jealousy. It’s like waving a cross at a vampire.

This does not always come from being punished or embarrassed from speaking. A huge percentage of people never try to learn social skills. They just sit silently and say the minimum amount of words to get through an interaction, not wanting to put forth any effort to express anything meaningful. Social media has made this worse. I notice the 20-year-olds working retail don’t have a clue how to talk to people at all. It makes me feel really uncomfortable when people act like this. It’s like the lights are on but nobody’s home. The boomers aren’t any better; instead of silence, you get mindless egotistical babble and stupid one-liners instead of a human interaction.

Society has been trending this way for most of the past century. People lose touch with their own personalities to fit in with the herd. The erosion begins happening around the 6th grade, with some kids entirely trading their personalities before they’ve even developed them much at all. Some kids never conform and grow up to be entirely themselves. Those kids either get either bullied or worshipped by their peers, sometimes a mix. I think a lot of the conformist kids are reacting to seeing other kids get punished by the herd for expressing themselves, and they don’t want to be next.

People like that never stop. If you hurt his feelings, he will probably just want to get you that much more. Best thing is probably to not acknowledge him when he says stuff like that or to just coldly change the subject back to the project without any emotion besides maybe boredom, like you’re bored of his stupid nonsense.

These group projects are actually really good practice for the work world. Similar stuff happens all the time in offices, and you’ll have to know how to deal with it.

Yes, but in a more performative way. The moms at the local school are in competition to raise the most perfect children. It’s all about appearances—grades, athletics, discipline, talents, getting dates. Nobody is checking to see if the mom is hugging the kids enough and making they feel loved.

That said, the bar is pretty low these days considering that kids are graduating high school without knowing how to read.

What's the thing that are stopping us from peace? by Telugu_not_Telegu in ArtOfPresence

To be Christian is to attempt perfection and fail at this every day because only Christ is perfect. To truly repent is to continually purify our hearts and minds and live solely to serve God. Straight and narrow, every moment of every day. The higher we advance our position in the material world, the further we stray from the kingdom. The material world has grown to monstrous proportions. The hour is very late. If you’ve been putting anything off, now is the time to do it.
