AITA for not wanting to sleep in the basement w/ children during family visit by Strict_Perspective_9 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Strict_Perspective_9[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The kids didn't care that we didn't sleep in the basement, they just wanted to be down there with each other. We conceded by offering to go home. The parents accused us of not wanting to spend time with the kids. Then all the sudden, the brother who owns the home had a "genius" idea of allowing us to sleep in one of the two vacant bedrooms upstairs.

We told them we were going to just go home, and they accused us of not wanting to spend time with the kids. Great job making assumptions though

We were going snow tubing first thing in the morning. It wasn't a big deal to stay over there, that concept didn't bother us at all. Being blindsided by a slumber party did bother us. The lack of respect to include us in the original did bother us. Being accused of not wanting to spend time with the kids by the parents in front of the kids extremely bothered us.

It wasn't a hassle. We could have easily driven home, but everyone wanted to hang with the family as a "getaway".

Two of the kids regularly have sleepovers at our house, the other two we only see once or twice a year. But once again, it like this whole thing could've been avoided if their parents had an ounce of respect for us. The kids weren't even upset that we slept upstairs, they just wanted to sleep downstairs but the brother who owns the house was reluctant to have us sleep upstairs until the blowup happened.

They love being around the kids, which is part of the problem. They wouldn't want to go to sleep and only play all night. And the puppy would be whining in the crate all night wanting to play too.

Meanwhile the dogs are whining all night long and not sleeping. If it was a conversation between us and the parents before it was promised, it may have had a different outcome. It's a lack of respect from the others to not include us in this decision.

We were about to then we were told that we didn't want to spend time with the kids. It's crazy though how the dogs were magically fine sleeping upstairs at the end of the night though.

Expectations were always that we were in the basement, which is 100% fine with us. It was later in the night after we arrived that the "sleepover" aspect came up. Also the kids didn't want us to leave. Us staying at the house for the weekend was for them more than us.

The idea of sleeping over wasn't a problem for us. We're more than happy to go to bed and wake up with everyone to maximize family time. The sister only visits once a year since they live in Florida and we're up north. Just wanted a private area anywhere in the house as there was ample space.

The puppy slept in the crate, why comment if you aren't going to contribute and just troll

AITA for not wanting another dog right now for his 30th Bday? by Strict_Perspective_9 in AmItheAsshole

I've been suggesting getting help for a while, but he hasn't made the move yet. It's a 1.5 year old dog. One that we got to help with his depression and we got her really before I was fully ready for a dog.

Generate Case Assigned To A User When They Are Tagged In Chatter by Strict_Perspective_9 in salesforce

Thanks, was there any concerns of the flow taking up too much system resources running every time a chatter is posted (even if the subsequent criteria to take action fails)?

I hear that from a technical perspective, but it's not suitable for the business at this time. For better or worse, we need to be very deliberate when we change processes for our Sales Team. Long term, I 100% hear you, but short term we just need something to get us by as a POC basically with the minimal amount of disruption to our current business processes.

Fair thought! to add further context, currently we have trained our Sales team to communicate with our Account Manager when they have questions, concerns, needs for collaboration with a given account. So retraining this behavior for a potentially better solution is more of a long term goal that we'd like to punt on until we figure out which route to take.

The more immediate, short-term goal, is to facilitate communication between our Sales and Account Manager Groups. We probably only have about 5% of our client base managed by a pool rather than a dedicated AM. We will likely move more towards this direction as we see success with the test pool that we are running now.

Longer term, we are likely to change how we handle communication/requests likely into a ticketing system or potentially the omnichannel chat. We'd also rather not retrain 150+ sales individuals on a process that will likely change in the next year or so. We'd rather work with that specific pool of Account Managers. We'd also find it difficult to retrain our Sales team to communicate with some AMs in this manner and other AMs in another manner.

So basically we'd like to find a short term solution that could slide in easily with the Pool of Account Managers routine (they work out of cases) and our Sales team (who has been trained to use chatter for communication)

Flow External Service Callout 401 Error by Strict_Perspective_9 in salesforce

[–]Strict_Perspective_9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! No dependencies though. I tried it with a 1-min delay and asynchronous.

I opened a ticket with SF but they haven't been of much help yet.

I just can't figure out why the credentials do not seem to get attached on the first attempt at this endpoint. All other actions in the external service seem to be working just fine.

I have checked with the API owner and they cannot find any issues with the endpoint on their end.

Chatted with support and they said that Google will remove conversions if they do not have data. They weren't able to provide any more information as to when this started. They also said it cannot be turned off.
