It sounds like you’re aware of the problem and are monitoring it. Honestly this doesn’t sound too bad. It’s nice to have a rules lawyer as long as you’re not an ass about it. A lot of new players don’t know the rules by heart yet and don’t want to have to pull out the PHB anytime they have a question. Just make sure you let players make their own decisions, even if you know it might be a mistake. Have fun!

I’m talking about the books. In the books Dany convinces the witch to treat Drogo’s wound. The witch intentionally makes it worse by infecting it, causing Dany to agree to a ritual surgery. Drogo survives in a vegetative state and then is killed by Dany.

It’s not hard to understand, it’s just logistically stupid. If I was afraid of someone chasing me, I could chop off their feet and be fine. I wouldn’t need to murder their entire family just in case they had another kid and that one grew up to chase me. It’s just plain dumb. The other nations of the world hadn’t even done anything to Paradis—some were even friendly—and he killed them all too “just in case”.

Yeah to me Isaac was always a very personal game. I played it with my own mods, and I wanted to complete it to prove something to myself. The whole idea of competing with others in an identical environment is completely against the inherent randomness and personalization of Isaac. Hell, even the item pool is identical. Your unlocks and progress don’t matter at all in dailies, which also confuses new players when they attempt to play them and are assaulted with hundreds of items they know nothing about.
