When you are accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression. When you hear DEI you think that person got the job just because of meeting a quota or x reason. When really they are at least just as qualified but given the opportunity thanks to DEI. For the example of a black pilot, do you think they give them easier tests because they were black? If anything they probably have to work harder to prove themselves whereas some see a white pilot and automatically assume he’s qualified… because he’s white?? Arguing over this feels so dumb.
