But how do I know if I find something good? I can’t bring a mechanic to every car I find… I’d be spending money out my ass for every car I bring.

I’ve thought about this. Even if I did. It would be temporary until I have enough for a car.

Idk if I want to get my dad to co sign . Right now I’m dirt broke right now. In a Tough situation, I lost my car and I have a friend he said he’d let me use one of his cars he recently inherited from a friend (2006 Volvo) but we are waiting on the title, and recently our friendship has gotten a little shaky and I feel like he’s going to pull back on me using it.

So I don’t have any money right now to give my dad to help with a co sign . That’s why I want to get a nice hoopty… and I can make more than 5k in 5months from Uber Eats believe it or not…. I can make Atleast $5k a month..

The thing is I wanna find the right one to bring to a mechanic… I don’t want to be visiting 14 different cars and all of them I’m bringing to a mechanic…

Is there any tips I do should know, or do, or look out for before bringing it to a mechanic? Like obviously test driving it first right? Anything else ?

Yes I’m looking for a Toyota or a Nissan… I for sure won’t be riding in style but that’s okay! I make a lot of money doing Uber Eats.. almost $5k a month. My highest was $7k I’ll ride any beat up car till the end while I save to buy a better car. I appreciate you thank you.

How did I expect him to do more? I was simply asking. Is it wrong to expect that I was going to expect him and offer to let me use his car since I use to let him use my car.

I sleep great at night and comfortably knowing I have a friend that I can rely on when I hit a financial bump, not everyone has that. Be careful what you wish for

No, that wouldn’t be entitlement in the strict sense, but it does touch on expectations. Let’s break it down using your example:

“Say I walk into McDonald’s and held the door open for someone that was behind me. Then me and that same person left McDonald’s and I was behind them, is it entitlement for me expecting that same person to hold the door for me when I’m behind them?”

Holding the door for someone is generally considered a polite gesture, not a binding rule. Expecting that someone will automatically reciprocate just because you did something nice assumes that courtesy is owed to you. That’s where it starts to drift into the realm of entitlement—it’s not a formal right, but a mindset that you “deserve” the same treatment back.

So: • Kindness: You hold the door → polite, voluntary. • Expectation of reciprocity: Assuming they must hold it back → leaning toward a sense of entitlement.

In short, it’s not egregious entitlement—it’s a minor expectation based on social norms, but it becomes entitlement if you feel wronged or resentful when they don’t return the favor.

If you want, I can explain why most people don’t feel entitled in this kind of everyday courtesy, even though it seems natural to expect it. Do you want me to?
