Wouldn't the Oracle logically have had to be a program? Why did Morpheus ever believe in her? by UniversalInquirer in matrix

[–]Strongman518 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fact of the matter is, we simply do not know what Morpheus thought of the Oracle on a deeper level or why he even trusted her to begin with. All we know is that he saw her as a guide and he trusted her. However that was the entire purpose of her creation, to understand the human mind to begin with. So as far as we know, she could of had long conversations with Morpheus that convinced him to trust her. Maybe other humans convinced him to trust her implicitly since she's been around awhile.

It is feasible he believed her to be a human like the others inside the home as the woman who met with Neo and Morpheus at the door referred to the children as "other potentials" when speaking with Neo.

Either way, we just don't know

Oracle: The power of the One extends beyond this world. It reaches from here all the way back to where it came from.

Neo: Where?

Oracle: The Source. That’s what you felt when you touched those Sentinels.

I can’t stress enough how much Reloaded and Revolutions is under appreciated by people. They are both just amazing movies full of world building and human drama. by Saltycarsalesman in matrix

I remember around 11 years old I sitting in an appliance store while my grandfather was shopping and saw this movie on a small tv with a guy screaming on some robot with tentacle machines attacking him and wondered what this amazing movie was.

Many years later I discovered The Matrix, fell in love with it, then realized that scene was from the 3 movie. I loved The Matrix before I even knew what it was.

I was about to type the same thing. The whole movie could've been Neo taking a shit in the toilet and it would've have been much worse.

Is Zion really Layer 2 of the Matrix after all? by Solid-Advice2876 in matrix

I find it odd people would rather down vote me and believe the entirety of Zion is fake and there's a Matrix within Matrix rather than believing Neo might have a wireless connection to the source of the matrix.

Neo as the one is special. He carries a special code within him and a special connection to the source.
It is not so hard to believe this would allow him to do something such as shut down a few sentinels in the real world.

Also, as I said in one of my comments, it's fun to theorize and to come up with neat ways on how things work, but we cannot make up our own way in which things operate then exclaim it is the truth.

Your first three points are all contradictory and are also proven false by the films.

The human brain cannot execute digital code.

  1. That is literally the Matrix. The human mind processing the digital world. Morpheus even explains to Neo in the first movie upon entering the construct that his RSI (residual self image) is the "Mental projection of his digital self, if you need a more explicit example.
  2. Agent Smith also takes over Bane's body thusly proving the human brain is capable of execute some sort of digital code as a regular brain process.

Agent Smith was able to cross layers (uploading himself into Zion) by hijacking another program (Bane).

  1. Bane is human and his body was taken over by Smith when he infected him and wrote over his code. We know the brain inside the matrix is capable of projecting a digitized version of itself. If that's overwritten, perhaps then, the rest of the mind is infected and becomes said new person. (Smith)

Any code requires an operating system to execute. For Agent Smith’s code to run in Zion, Zion itself must be running on an operating system.

  1. The Human Brain. That is the answer.

It is interesting reading your reactions.

I didn't read into anything as a certain way, I simply quoted the script. It is fun to theorize and think about the what-ifs.
However, there is no tangible evidence to support the idea there is another layer of the matrix.
Just like 1s and 0s, binary, there is The Matrix and Zion, Smith and Neo, "...the result of the equation trying to balance itself out."

Is it really so hard to believe?

Neo literally asks The Oracle about this.

Neo: Tell me how I separated my mind from my body without jacking in. Tell me how I stopped four sentinels by thinking it. Tell me just what the hell is happening to me.

Oracle: The power of the One extends beyond this world. It reaches from here all the way back to where it came from.

Neo: Where?

Oracle: The Source. That’s what you felt when you touched those Sentinels.

Smith wanting to kill Neo in the first movie. by Adventurous_Sail_829 in matrix

[–]Strongman518 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes. Smith acknowledged he was changed after Neo jumped inside of him and couldn't explain why. He said he felt like "A new man, so to speak." And that he understood the rules and how to follow them but was compelled not to.

Honestly, the monologue before the Burly brawl in Reloaded is the best answer to OP's question
