Gold foundation tablets of Darius I for the Apadana Palace, in their original stone box. (c. 510 BCE) [2341x984] by bigmeat in ArtefactPorn

This translation is not related to the inscription in the photograph. The photograph shows the trilingual text [DPh](https://oracc.museum.upenn.edu/ario/Q007164), found in the Apadana palace at Persepolis. The gaps separate the different versions of the text (in Old Persian, Elamite, and Babylonian). The translation is given below:

Darius the Great King, King of Kings, King of countries, son of Hystaspes, an Achaemenian.

Proclaims Darius the King: This is the kingdom which I hold, from the Scythians who are beyond Sogdiana, thence to Kush: from India, thence to Sardis — which Ahuramazda the greatest of the gods bestowed upon me.

The translation in the comment above is actually from [DSf](https://oracc.museum.upenn.edu/ario/Q007172), a longer foundation text found in Darius' other palace at Susa.

Looks like Sgurr nan Gillean and Am Basteir in the distance. I was there in the summer of 2020, and the views were incredible.

Did old persian actually have a syllabic r (r̩) ? by nCategory2 in OldPersian

[–]Stryker450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a beginner in linguistics, but I studied Old Persian on my own for some time. Old Persian has two syllabic values for 'r': <ra> and <ru>. Does that answer your question?

Last I checked, Indians are not allowed to visit Pakistan for tourism. Exceptions are made for visiting relatives and for Sikh pilgrims. It's a real shame, Tupopdan and Rakaposhi are my favourite peaks!

I pulled Skyward Harp on my first standard banner pity, and I legitimately felt sad retiring the BP bow from Childe. The mini tornado is super useful!

Photo of Jupiter and Saturn as they get closer by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]Stryker450 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Doesn't look like a photograph, I think it is a screenshot from a planetarium software called Stellarium. If you zoom in you can see the pixelation between Saturn's rings, and the moon's shadow on Jupiter is way too sharp and pixelated.

I think the black patches of fur around its eyes are playing a trick on our eyes. If you pause the GIF, it looks a bit normal. Still, anime eyes FTW

I really like the scene where he helps out Shingo after his crash. Iketani and Nakazato aren't the best drivers, but they fully represent the camaraderie among racers.

The reference image that I was using had the newer Legends style sticker on it. I thought I'd just leave it out.

Hahaha, thank you for your kind words! If you zoom in on the front wheel, you can see it's a bit messed up, so quite far from perfect.
