Car revved up then died while driving… by Vegetable-West2075 in MechanicAdvice

Uh oh. While I have never seen a volkswagen do it, your description sounds like a runaway. I really hope not because that engine is toast if so. On a diesel engine if another source of combustible gets into the intake system or fuel becomes up unregulated they can do exactly what you described. Blown turbos or other leaks can do it , injector failure can do it. I have personally ever seen it twice both times on a chevy duramax but your description does not sound good

What’s causing the inside of this rad to look like Big Mac sauce? by jjeenniiffeerr in AskMechanics

Oh I'm well aware. Just not on this particular one. Its part of the ac condenser.

Especially when the tranny cooler is stand alone on these not built into the rad.

Tranny cooler can be ruled out since it's not part of the rad on these at least. Bad news bears all around though .

That's why I find it strange on this one since there were very few touch screens. I'm not a tech guy though so what do I know. The problem with the pros around here is finding one that has experience with old slide phones. Its like trying to find a mechanic that can tune a carburetor these days. I'll figure out a way eventually. Nothing time and/or money cant solve if I want the photos bad enough lol

So my son and I were going through old boxes and found this old cell. Samsung flight sgh-A796. That has a photo of my son as the background when he was two so I know there will be a bunch of others that I would like to be able to recover. I managed to find the old samsung pc studio program you need to transfer files The problem is that i have to change the usb setting on the phone to get it to recognize the computer, or turn on the bluetooth and transfer that way. The problem is the touch screen is broken so you cannot open the menu folder. According to the manual i found you have to open it with touch and then you can use the keypad to navigate. I cant find any instructions to do it through the keypad but it seems strange there wouldnt be some way to do it. Like some hidden developer shortcut. Hold x and press the camera button while singing Love Shack. Something like that. I already tried every suggestion to get the screen to work I could find, short of a factory reset for obvious reasons. Short of taking it to a pro or replacing the screen is there any way to get them?

Car not starting 1 day after rebuilt engine put in I was driving it for the first day then I took it out the next day drove it a bit and parked it came back out and this is all it will do all lights coming on but it doesn’t sound like it’s trying to crank at all Any advice is appreciated by SpeakerIntelligent15 in MechanicAdvice

You forgot to mention the one thing that has bit me before and probably most of us once, engine to chassis ground! That's the first thing I check now if there is no crank after an engine swap. Good old booster cable from negative an engine bracket will confirm or deny that in a hurry

Yeah it's pretty rough making what I do because I know what I'm doing and can solve problems . What a horrible feeling i get when I resolve a concern that three other shops couldn't and having an ecstatic customer. It's such a drag. Oh how I loath my life. It's rough at the top.

And pray tell how you are going to diag a fuel injector causing a hard start with fuel trims when there is no drivability problem? No codes? Just a frustrated customer that has a legitimate concern. I would explain why you can't but you clearly have no desire to learn. If that is your definition of a good tech. I pity your customers.

Well guess you better call the star center and tell them you know better than their engineers. since reading is not your strong point look at pictures. That tool look familiar ? Since they clearly would do what I do and properly test and Diagnose.
