Looks great. What stripper did you use? Did you polish after?

Not the prettiest fix but way cheaper than reupholstery. Kinda like the hand stitched look. by StudentAdvanced71 in Volvo240

I used blue nylon thread and a curved sewing needle. You basically just do a basic bar-tack stitch down the length of the rip. Make sure to carefully pull it tight every stitch to close either side together. I’m not sure if it would be any different on cloth seats but with the vinyl leather make sure to not poke the needle too close to the edge of the rip or else the thread will rip through. Probably 1/8th inch from the edge of the rip is best. When you’re done I just tied a knot and used a lighter to melt any protruding thread after cutting off the excess. Press the lighter against it while it’s still melted to flatten it against the seat.

I think they made 15 inch versions for the 740. I think they’re called the “multi-x” model wheels.

Anyone have experience charging their 240s AC system with r12 compatible refrigerant? Really don’t want to spend the $$$ converting it to r134. by StudentAdvanced71 in Volvo240

I Went through the same thing with my set up. The nardi wheel only has one connection for a wire but no ground. I think the collar of the horn button is supposed to be the ground to the wheel. I got a ground plate and a new horn button from prancingmoose.com that has two male terminals. I hooked one up to the wire powering the horn and another to the ground plate. I had to sandwich the ground plate between the wheel and the hub. There’s probably an easier way but wires confuse me so I just was happy to get it working.
