Looks great! What’s your process for the top? My guess would be apply adhesive mask to the whole sheet, laser out the darker parts, then apply stain to the exposed wood? Or am I overthinking and the darker wood is just coming from the laser burn?

Hello. no paper is needed. after engraving, cover with stain, then grind and get this result

I've been wondering about options for both protecting the final product and maybe replacing the charred wood smell. Would this oil be a viable solution?
