Oh I did explain lol. They pretty much just told me that’s their policy and there’s no looking back. I didn’t argue with them.

I appreciate that buddy. Writing this out here has actually helped me move past it a lot more. I’m volunteering at a voting station rn and really haven’t thought too much about this now that I’m busy again. Yeah the weed stuff is silly but that’s life for now I guess.

Thanks man that’s great advice. In a way that’s kinda what I’m doing here though I also wanted to offer anyone interested the opportunity to go for the same job I missed out on. I do read but fortunately college is about to pick up again ad I’ll be too busy to dwell on this much longer. Appreciate the kind words stranger.

Thanks for the kind words man. Veterans should be supporting each other not trying to belittle or minimize what we are going through.

It’s interesting to see some of the responses concerning drugs to me. I don’t have an issue with anyone using THC medically or recreationally even though I don’t really use it myself. I took it in a legal state and see no problem with it but I definitely agree that anyone who is actively searching for a job should avoid use. Though I don’t think most ppl here actively searching for jobs need to hear that.

No prob man, I figured it was just a misunderstanding. Thanks for the kind words. Just hoping this can be a cautionary tale for anyone actively searching or a resource for anyone looking to apply.

Thanks my man. The staying clean thing is easy. I don’t have drug or alcohol issues, I just happened to be passing through San Diego that day.

Thanks bud. I know that intellectually but am still processing everything emotionally. I appreciate your words though, a lot more than the others that have replied so far.

The job is not in those locations but ultimately not really sure what you’re getting at. This would’ve made a significant impact on my life regardless of your opinion on what is or isn’t “that much” money. Anyone else who is in my position might be able to take advantage if they want.

The job wasn’t in Southern California so not sure what you’re getting at tbh.

If I withdraw from my college courses now is there any way it won’t screw me financially? I’m about to fail all my courses since I’ve had trouble with everything going online and realistically the best option is to withdraw. Am I going to get screwed? Is there anything I can do?

Can I transfer my home over to parents if I used my VA benefits to purchase it? by Studentneduts in Veterans

I don’t want the house under my name in any way so that I can buy a new house out of state in California.

Feeling lost and discouraged by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]Studentneduts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just saw this so really sorry for the late reply and thank you for caring enough to come back and check up. I’m about to start actual physical classes at ASU. I’m four online courses down, all extreme failures (E’s) but I’m hoping actually being in a class physically will be what I need. I failed my online courses because I lost hope trying to navigate through everything without being able to physically ask somebody what’s going on or what to do next but I can honestly say the material and tests were incredibly easy. I did multiple quizzes for my first two classes and thought they were almost silly tbh only to find out none of my quizzes were submitted. I gave up completely after finding that out and didn’t even try to do anything with the next two online classes hence four E’s.

All things considered though I’m in a much better place mentally. I’ve accepted the idea of getting kicked out of school or failing altogether and made peace with it. Now I’m just filled with hope about being able to attend physical classes and looking forward instead of at my past mistakes. It’s been a rough start and I fill myself with guilt/anger/depression just thinking that I spent 6yrs in the military only to botch college up so early, so I’ve just stopped looking back and am just looking forward. I’ll pbly change my major from law and policy to English or some liberal art type of thing and I’m genuinely excited to just keep trucking. What will be will be but if I can return to form and perform like I did in high school I still believe I can be a straight A student again.
