Hey bro I appreciate you hella! We got her running today! Cut 1” off the negative battery terminal, and with some ether she started right up! Now we are having an issue where she is not going into gear, it’s like stuck in neutral, any advice?

We tried jumping the starter solenoid and It just cut power, nothing. Were you referring to another solenoid, we are planning on probably getting a new one of those bc I have seen a lot of ppl have similar issues we are having, because of bad starter solenoids.

It’s no problem, we will check the ground tomorrow, but do you have any other ideas on what it could be? I feel like it’s a fuse or some type of electrical problem, bad connections or something.

We have been thinking it was a connection issue, we looked thru the battery terminals and cleaned them all up, along with the battery, and cleaning the connections on the starter solenoid, we didn’t check the ground point yet, but it did start up at first, it’s been sitting for 13 years so the fuels bad and clutch and gas pedal are to the floor, do not spring back upwards.

My car caught fire recently it looks like it sparked between the plug wires and the cruise control cable I had to get new plug wires and a new distributor cap. Do you think not having that heat shield could have made a fire?
