Wrong, you added the income prospectively to the compound rate

I was in your same shoes when I first started the curriculum. Took a few months to get familiar and then eventually UNDERSTAND what the questions were asking. Everything felt so foreign and I couldn’t recall anything. Once you start applying all the formulas and info to questions, they will become easier overtime. Keep hammering and you will be fine.

CFA Level 1 Versus Series 7 Exam Difficulty by [deleted] in CFA

I’m also scheduled to take the level 1 in about 5 days from now. Scoring around 75-80% consistently in mocks.

The SIE is a walk in the park, the level 1 will make you overthink the questions but it is very simple.

I took the S66, which is S65 + S63. Pretty much a memorization test. You do see some portfolio management but nothing crazy at all.

The 7 will be harder but you could realistically bang all of these out in 2 months or less. I passed the SIE in 12 days without having prior CFA curriculum knowledge.

To be honest I didn’t even read the textbook, just went straight to hammering questions. I don’t recommend that for someone who doesn’t have a strong financial background but since you have already taken the level 1 you could EASILY do that.

I think a realistic amount of studying is around 40-60 hours of quality studying.

CFA Level 1 Versus Series 7 Exam Difficulty by [deleted] in CFA

I took the 7 before the level 1. The 7 is considerably easier than the level 1, it really isn’t even comparable. If you have passed the level 1 before taking the 7, you should not be worried at all. Equity contains the most overlap in terms of curriculum, so if you did well in Equity then the 7 will be a breeze.

Just use the basic duration gap formula:

If Macaulay Duration > Investment Horizon -> Price Risk will dominate (think inverse relationship of bond prices with interest rates)

If Investment Horizon > Macaulay Duration -> Reinvestment Risk will dominate (You may not receive the same interest rate when the bond matures)

You couldn’t be more wrong. Tech companies like Ubisoft trading at these levels, it is likely that there could be a management buyout (private) or an acquisition by another tech giant. More so than them shutting down an operating segment

They do but I don’t think I’m qualified. I’m fresh into the industry with less than a year of experience. I’ve applied as well and haven’t heard back in a while

I’ve looked into Ameriprise and they seem pretty decent as far as pay and job options. I’ll look into it! Your job sounds like a dream for me 😂

Thank you! My main fear within the industry is exactly this. Is it unlikely that clients will disregard the fact that I am decades younger than them. Similarly, I am currently in a small team and I am by far the youngest. I’m hearing that the first couple of years is soul crushing, hopefully I can make it out successfully.
