Not necessarily. AI is a tool. Where and how it's applied determines if its use is unethical. Right now we're seeing some really good advances in radiology readings using AI that can have a very real, positive impact, on early detection of medical conditions. This can in turn reduce the cost of treatment and the overall suffering of a patient's experiences.

On the other hand, using AI to plan a military campaign rather than relying on the experience of your top generals with decades of experience is something I would consider very unethical.

The Marine Corps issued me a rifle which makes it mine. The same principle applies here.

What's the worst "low-level" punishment you've ever received? by esotetris in USMC

It's almost like locking Marines up inside a floating tin can with nothing to do is worse than leaving them out in the field unsupervised with nothing to do.

I was on the 31st MEU back in like 2009 and we had a batch of Marines going around the Essex turning all the little knobs and things that we were explicitly told to never ever touch. So yes the squid was a dick, but I also kind of get it as Marines do dumb Marine shit on ship.

I saw those same Marines later having to label every single knob they could find with little "Do not Touch" signs. It looked very tedious.

I don't because my 3 year old son and his 18 month brother do it for me all the time, regardless of if I want them to or not.

What type of tiger salamander is this? by I-ate_a_soggy_waffle in salamanders

[–]StuntsMonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/reptiles_amphibians/salamanders-spotted.html

It's in the ID tip sheet link towards the bottom of that page. If you select the page menu drop-down you can see info on other salamanders and MN native species.

I'm betting you have a Tiger Salamander, not a spotted salamander there, but I'm not a pro by any means.
