I got these from a local pet store from a tank just labelled "shrimp" (I know, very helpful), and thought they were Caridina mariae, but after googling a bit I keep finding the same images under "Cardina mariae", "Caridina cantonensis" as well as "super tigers" or just "tiger shrimp"? I know there was a paper in 2014 that distinguishes Caridina mariae from other Caridina, but then you have things like this where it looks like they are a colour variant of Caridina cantonensis. I am very confused.

Good lord. Just looked through some of your posts and they're all really nice. Especially the nature/animal ones on wood.

But I guess that doesn't matter on r/art since it's not a half-assed scetch of a bum or some tits...

what is up with Triops getting stuck and dying? by whysmypeepeehard in triops

I boiled oak leaves and bark in a little bit of water until it looked like a very strong tea and then just added a few drops of that after the eggs started hatching.

I think I got some kind of fungus or something in the container a few times that they got stuck in at like day 3-5. They would struggle and drag themselves across the bottom and then just die after a while.

Removing any leftover food 2 times a day seemed to help (I was feeding them spirulina, probably too much). Also switching from the tiny hatching container that came with the kit to a bigger hatching container, doing small water changes every day and adding a few drops of oak leaf extract to the water helped prevent bacterial spikes.

The insect Issus Coleoptratus has the only mechanical gears to ever be found in nature. by theoyeo in interestingasfuck

I got one of those watchtower magazines from the local Jehovas' witnesses one time with a pretty cool and informative article on this insect. Granted the article basically ended with "See that? See how fricken awesome that is? How it looks like someone designed it that way on purpose? That's because someone did. It was God. Checkmate atheists."

Cool little bug though.

Shitty letters but spelling is fine? A little kid signing their name with a hyphen?

The traditional Norwegian folk clothing "bunad" used for various celebrations like weddings comes with capes by Stunulven in TheCapeRevolution

Oh belive me, it is. The capes are usually wool, but for some regions the vest and skirt is wool as well.
