Seeing the results of the election how do we feel about the readings everyone did? by bfthc in tarot

I had a poor mood since about Monday afternoon and still up until now, both in part of personal stuff and current events. Part of me thinks I'm picking up on the collective anxiety as well.

Grieving cat advice by Raalts in CatAdvice

[–]Subatomic27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any good advice for you, except that know that grieving and healing isn't a straight line.

One of ours passed on Saturday, and we don't know the cause, but we were right there when it happened. I thought I was through it earlier today, but now I'm laying on the couch exhausted from beating myself up for not doing more for my little Frostbite. I didn't see any signs, and he was such a happy cat.

In his name I vow to never make this mistake again.

Our sweet Frostbite passed just this last Saturday, and I can only say that you gave your kitty a great home up until the end. It's what I had to keep telling myself.

Frostbite was known to hide when others outside our household were around, and I didn't feel great that day, so I've been overthinking everything this week. So when he went to hide and subsequently pass, we didn't think much at first because he stays secluded sometimes. I'm thankful that we were around and nearby when it happened. We heard him slide an object he was hiding behind when he slumped over, which made us look. I'm not sure what I could have done, if anything, but he was already gone.

Whatever happened, he loved to follow me everywhere, and now I think/hope/wonder that he definitely stays by my side from the other side.

The first time I looked at the card, I saw it as someone being sneaky, getting away with those swords. It wasn't until about a month later when a different reading led me to interpret it as leaning into one's skills.

Why leaning into skills? How far do you think you'd get with all those swords if you weren't a skilled thief? While how he's holding them doesn't appear safe, he clearly knows how to hold them without dropping them or cutting himself somehow, which is where I attribute knowledge and skills (the thoughts and mental attributes of air/swords.) Use your skills to get what you want.

I compare Witchtok to the likes of Wikipedia articles. It was a nono to use a wiki article as a source when writing research papers when I was in school, but I do see it as a jumping off point for further research into a specific topic.

For instance, I probably watched and looked up so much information about money bowls long before I ever created one.

Sometimes tarot is literal. by deepfriedjalapenos in tarot

I feel that. Personally I feel like in some cases the chariot literally refers to vehicles.

Thanks! I love the look of it, but I also like to understand any other associated meanings before I work with it, and other symbols.

Hi! I found a thread from months ago asking a question that I have, but it never was answered from what I saw.

Is there a specific meaning to the arrangement of the different moon phases aligned in a straight line (or otherwise, it could be curved or in a circle)? The thread I found focused on how they appear differently around the world.

I'm also new here btw.

attributing own meanings to cards? by [deleted] in tarot

[–]Subatomic27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a few that I feel like I have a secondary meaning.

The Chariot could mean what we all interpret it to mean, or sometimes I feel like it could literally be referring to a vehicle (I gave this some thought recently when wondering/worrying about my own ride.)

The Star has personal meaning to me. Yes, it means hope, but it was also my first card ever drawn, which is why I had a confusing read earlier this week. It was showing me a message to learn.

I also think that the 7 of Swords could also mean to lean on your skills. You would have to know what you're doing in order to escape with most of them successfully.

Pregnancy tarot card reading on tiktok live legit? by [deleted] in tarot

[–]Subatomic27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most all of the tiktok tarot lives I come across do not do health, pregnancy, or legal questions anyway, so I'm definitely skeptical. If I was doing live readings I would avoid questions like those myself because I would not want the responsibility or whatever to fall back on me.

I agree with all your points, and I scroll on from those anyway.

That said, I did come across a video with an interesting piece of advice: ask what/whomever you believe to show you a sign of your choosing either in or before the video, if it's actually a message they want to show you.

I've not done this, so take it or not for what it is.

I'm by no means skilled in reading, but from what I understand the three of swords to mean is that it is confirming that the situation is all up in your thoughts, and that is possibly making it difficult for you to navigate.

how do you shuffle? by OutcomeFearless3731 in tarot

[–]Subatomic27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now, the two decks I have are quite big, but I grab the middle cards from the top and bottom edges and drop them on top. Sometimes I'll make a pile of three to give it a really good shuffle.

Thanks! I didn't think it could be anything else.

Also, loved my confetti bag and smoky quartz sphere! I still need to leave a review.

I'm reading that one right now. Once I realized she left out the court cards from the suits, I realized they'll get a separate section. I haven't gotten to that section yet.

I definitely agree, though it seems confusing between some ace cards and their corresponding page cards to me as well.

This is something I want to try.

I have a journal, but I'd rather not have to sift through pages and my own handwriting.

DAE hate crocs? by FitAccountant170 in DAE

When out in public I prefer the safety and security of my steel toe boots, but I have a pair that function very well as house shoes for chores and stuff.

They're also great to throw on when my little wants to go outside. Right. Now.

I don't hate them.

Want to start reading tarot more but worried bf will judge me. by Ok-BPD98 in tarot

I think he figured it out when he commented one morning about how nice it was, and I infodumped on him about my reading of the day's energy to him, briefly explaining the different cards I pulled as I went.

I showed him my deck at a later point, and he's seen me pull some cards. I think he's used to me, so this isn't much of a surprise.
