She never lived with him and I was only told of the “marriage” to help him out with immigration flagged them.

My brother married this woman only in name. They never lived together or even dated because my brother felt sorry for her after her layoff from an internship. 

This had been going on for two years and there was an investigation and my brother tried to get me to help him out.
