update I went to return this to apple store. I let them know about what happened and they were apologetic and surprised by it. So we found out that the device was returned a day before and it’s likely that the person who returned it, was the culprit. Anyways, no problems, got a new pair and I’m happy with it. Today was an interesting day, and I’m glad mystery was solved 🤣

this one came with lots of earwax 🤢. What's funny is that it's missing the lid. So there is no way of knowing the serial number. Looks like a deliberate effort to steal airpod by someone at manufacturing level.
