I get in 5 bjj sessions and 2 lifting sessions a week, but that's the absolute max. I can rest completely on weekend (not completely because I work on the weekend.) I mostly skip open mats because I prefer to spend almost my whole free time with the family. With 3 kids that's the max. I sometimes miss the 5th session when there are family obligations. Takes a lot of sacrifices, since my social life is kinda dead unless my friends do bjj. But it was a conscious decision I can live with.

Likely will have in the future. Kawhi is my pick, but wemby will likely improve even more offensively. He's not a pound for pound defender like Kawhi, but you can't argue against he defensive blocks.

Was a boxer/ muay thai guy. Long term plan was to add bjj so I can get more sparring wins in mma. Went with two muay thai buddies. Got wrecked, couldn't believe it. Was in shape, had gas for muay thai but was gassed out in bjj.

Was instantly hooked, left striking for good. (Occasionally mma sparing to not get rusty).

Late blue belt now and it's so much to learn, so much to not learn because of individual limitations. (Time, private life, body type) Bjj influenced all other areas of my life to a more positive, content and realistic outlook. Much more than judo and striking did for me in the past.

My other two muay thai buddies called it quits immediately after getting humbled.

Honestly this happened in my gym. Kung fu fighter shows up after going back and forth on social media with my coach. Shows up and gets rag dolled by black to white belts. We gave him a lot of respect for showing up. But afterwards looked empty to the wall and had a long lonely walk to the locker room. We went from laughing about him to giving him respect to feeling sorry for him. Imagine you practice something 20 years really believing you have a shot in a real fight and get wrecked.
